Dear,

I am working with a Belgium employer (my first employer in Belgium) for the last 1 year. I have accumulated my vacation during my first year of employment, but I am planning to resign and move to another country (outside EU) by end of January next year. Since I was in my first year of employment, I had no vacation days in 2020, but I have accumulated 20 days of vacation for next year 2021, which I will not be able to use now as I am moving outside of Belgium. Can I ask my current employer to pay these unused vacation days for next year in my final pay? Are they entitled to pay this by law?

Thank you for taking time to reply.

Hello, I don't have much knowledge but I think your employer will give you vacation certificate (don't know exact name but in this certificate it is mentioned that you are entitled to take how many vacation leaves ). You have to inform your employer that you are no longer working in Belgium so that they will give you leave encashment in your full and final settlement. Hope this will be helpful for you. All the best.
