Hi Admin, I've been working in Singapore working for 2 years but my spass has been rejected during my renewal, I believe reason salary is low base on my Age. Now, I've found a new employer , salary offer passing base on MOM SAT tool , but 2 days ago I was rejected again by MOM reason base on my new employer could be due to covid19 pandemic situations. MOM put a remark " if applicant is in Singapore you may want to re appeal for consideration, otherwise wait until safe distancing measurements lifted" my employer re-appeal as they want to hire base on my skillset. I want to ask if someone here experience the same faith. Do I have a chance of getting approve after re appeal of employer since I'm in Singapore (serving STVP got 3 weeks left).
Thank you!!!
hi brother. reason of ur new employer rejected? become of no quota or any other thing?
The only MOM remark is that " if your applicant is in Singapore you can re appeal for consideration, otherwise you need to wait until safe distancing measure is lifted"
Your employer must appeal and note that you are here in Singapore. Im on the same situation last 2 months. MOM must know that your employer is keen on hiring you. also they must know you're still here in Singapore.
Employer appeal same day after receiving the rejection. But kinda weird, PART4 of the MOM application form I fill up I clearly states that I'm still here in Singapore. By the way 2 months ago you also new application? After rejection how many weeks u get the results of the appeal? Approve? TIA
Hi josef. Im a filipino. I got the same result as yours. Below is a timeline of my application.
Oct 21 : 1st applied
Nov 4 : rejected (it mention the same reason as yours)
Nov 4 : submitted an appeal
Nov 18 : appeal rejected
Nov 18 : submitted a new application under subsidiary
Nov 25 : rejected
Nov 25 : submitted an appeal
I wonder why this time around the result of rejection came out in just a week only
Hi ej1123, yours is a new application too? You waited for 19 days for the re appeal results. What is new application under new subsidiary? Are you in STVP too?
Yes its clearly stated that we are here in SG and yet still they think we are not. Officer told me that because they thought im already back in our country because im on STVP also. then i extended my STVP and have a chance to talk to the officer and tell me those details.
here's my time line on my pass:
Under STVP
New application
Sector: Construction
Sep 1 - Applied
Set 15 - Rejected (Reason: same as yours)
Sep 15 - Same day rejected my employer apply me to a new application (salary increases)
Sep 28 - Rejected (Reason: they still need my educational details same day appeal my employer send my educational details (though im already working here for more than 3yrs and inform MOM that they need me. because there's other information that employer can add to explain in the appeal)
Oct 23 - Finally my S Pass is approved
By the way i have a friend also same situation as mine around September also. New application same as mine rejected and the reason is same as yours, but his employer appeal to the that application and just told to the appeal that they need him and stated also that my friend is here in SG. after a week. approved already. his in construction sector also.
Hope this helps and keep praying.
Additional info.
You cannot check the status of the appeal. Which is really scary. When you check, it always says Rejected. Only your employer can check the status. But if it was approved. Then your status changes to Approved
Hi Gelique21, did you ask your previous employer too to extend your STVP or you did it yourself? Can share how you extend your STVP. I was informed that only previous employer can do the extension for you
Hi josef2010, yes i ask my ex employer to extend my STVP. (you can check MOM website too) and my ex employer told me to buy an air ticket for them to submit to MOM. I buy airline ticket 26days from the expiration of my STVP. you ask your ex employer to extend your STVP and on your last day of STVP you go directly to MOM for extension. they will give you 2weeks extension depends on them.
first time i go there (September) i got 26days extension (Maybe i was lucky also that time because officer is kind, some asking for extension only got 14days, maybe because i also have an air ticket for them to know that i will come back to my country after the extension). they base on my air ticket. then 2nd time i go there (October) same day as my last day here they gave me another 2 weeks but this time i already have my IPA and waiting for my medical results before my employer can issue my S Pass. But this time unlike last time they were issuing 2weeks and not asking too much (maybe because i have an IPA). Also the que for STVP extension is fewer unlike (September) there so many people asking for extension. If you will go to MOM you should go at 7 - 7:30am there.
So meaning 1st extension of STVP is thru your ex employer? Is it? Okay thanks
STVP Extension always thru ex employer and if you dont get result before your STVP expire you go directly to MOM on your last day early in the morning.
Ok thanks. last question, when you went to MOM on your last day of your STVP did you bought / bring a plane ticket with you again?
Yes I bring. Its on my phone. Definitely bought air ticket because ex HR told me to buy before they can apply on my STVP extension.
Ok thanks. So Ex Company HR will send you the STVP thru mail after they applied it?
Depends on your hr. My ex hr emailed me the soft copy of the application extension. But the result not came up until my last day. That's why i decided to personally go to MOM for extension. But during the extension they check thru if i have application for extension which they saw my ex company application. This situation is for the first time i go to mom last September. But the 2nd time i go there (october) it's easier to get the extension. No need to go to the mom building. Outside the building they issue your pass immediately.

Hi Gelique,
If you have IPA already do you still need to request for extension of STVP while waiting for the medical result and the card?
Or IPA is sufficient that you can stay here already in Singapore?
Hi Jchester24, are you also on new application which is rejected and now on appeal? My new company HR updated me this morning that they managed to call MOM and follow up my appeal status, MOM informed them to ask me to get an extension of STVP first on my ex employer.

Hi Josef
Today received new application rejection and did an appeal today but my concern is my STVP as it will expire on 2 Jan 2021. Some info i’ve read here it can take 2-3 weeks (worst are longer and some are rejected again?
My Ex Employer is not keen to extend my STVP hence i need to opt for Option B to go to MOM.
Have your Ex Company managed to extend your STVP?
Hi Jchester,
My pass will expire on 15th December. My EX HR company managed to request today for STVP extension but still need approval from MOM. Just praying they will grant the request. Option of going to MOM to request for extension I never tried. I just follow what my current company HR advise me to do , this is as per MOM, ex employer must request for STVP extension.

This looks a bit tight considering it might take 1 week before MOM grant an extension thru your Ex Employer that's why they recommend to submit an extension a week before .
I think you can have a strong argument if you go to MOM physically and ask for an extension.. Since your ex employer submitted a request already and just waiting for the results..
Let see if we have some similar case on this forum
I think ex company can request STVP extension only 1 week before your/our pass expires. That's why they normally request 7days before your pass expires. I plan to go in MOM on the 14th of December. Too hard if I will go there on my last day.

True its better you have 1 day left so in a worst case scenario you have time to leave the country..
Keep us posted on the outcome once you managed to go to MOM. I will opt on this option in case I don't have approval yet on my appeal submission
God bless you
Hi what’s the reason of your rejection

I’m just curious what happened to your last appeal on the subsidiary company application. Thanks.
