I am from Yemen. I want to move to France to work and live there. I have work experience as a mechanic, a forklift truck driver, a general worker in any field.

Sorry but there are no jobs for you with your skill set in the E.U.

Hello,
Many French and European people have your skills, so non chance to get a job (and moreover, it must speak French)
STEFFIFI has made it her job, to tell people they can't get a job in Europe - lol.
XB23 wrote:STEFFIFI has made it her job, to tell people they can't get a job in Europe - lol.
Maybe it's harsh but there are just no jobs for those people in the EU.

I agree with you. Some of her posts may contain some bitter truth about the reality of life in Europe which many are completely naive about and need someone to give them a reality check and bring them back down to earth, but even when someone does stand a chance to move to Europe, she does her utmost best to remove all hope and optimism and extinguish their dreams which she clearly gets plenty of satisfaction from - lol.
For example by questioning them on their choice of country and how "their kind is unwanted there".
I get it - she has a distaste for immigrants, particularly those from the African continent. This is evident from many of her posts which discourages them from entering Europe. I don't think this racist attitude is appropriate on an expat site that is supposed to be welcoming to all.
If she did indeed express racist views, then I agree: she doesn't belong in this group and her posts should be banned. But where exactly did she exhibit prejudice against people from other countries? Can you provide a reference?
Yes, this is true: France has a high unemployment rate and unless a company can justify hiring a foreigner, forget about working here. Justification means proving that one has a skill that is in short supply here.
I work as a daily trader on the stock exchange and I have a long experience in computer maintenance and I am a graduate of an institute in the field of automated media. Now I want to move to France and work there because I want to develop myself.
Hello,
I just highlighted the reality of situation and rules in Europe about work... I would have the same speech for Russian, Asian, and also for OZ, NZ, US and Canada citizens, because the rules are same for them. Like for an European has to answer to some criterias to immigrate in these countries...
And the work situation in French is very critical as well. I talk about this even with European citizen. The country which welcomes workers in (almost) any area is Germany but often, German as a good level (B2) is requested with English
yes i get it
I think it's the same for Algeria. Job opportunities are very few
Yes... Nearly all countries are in lack of job offers... In Africa, in Europe, in Asia... Everywhere...
And to come back in France, we are too or not enough skilled. Some employers want young graduates but with 5 years of experience... Or they want high-graduates (Master) but they pay them like they have a Bachelor... It is completely fool!!!
Bachelor
yes i agree with u
however still work as freelancer is the way to live now. for me i have last 5 years working on trade on exchange currencies or as we call it FOREX .but the problem is to devlope and go forward its little hard in africca , for that i intresting to move to another country , need to devlope thats all

There has been many complaints about her. Comments have been removed - and as a matter of fact - she has had her entire account disabled to prevent her from posting further.
STEFFIFI - have you ever been banned from this site, yes or no?
Yeah, I'm new to this website and 1st thing in the morning I see it and discourages me sadly. I'm moving to France where my partner lives and works. I have more hopes to get job in France as I don't want to be dependent. This posts are utterly not helpful for me.

You mean that "delightful" American girl who spouted ignorant racist bullshit on this forum? I am glad she is gone!
I read most posts posted on here and I never seen Steffifi post racist comments on here. So if you say something prove it!
The truth can hurt that is something I agree with, but most people from outside the EU doesn't stand a chance of getting employed in France.
XB23 wrote:STEFFIFI - have you ever been banned from this site, yes or no?
Why should I be banned??? I just say the truth... Come on the French forum, some posts are worse. I am very soft unlike others...

I know but we have 10% of jobseekers or poor workers, so it is priority to Frnech people... Moreover, if you don't speak French, you have no chance to find a job except, according your skills and diplomas in international companies where English is the language of work, but they are rare (all in big cities, mainly in Paris). There are companies in financial, IT, IT development, high management, etc and experience is highly recommended...
Tell us what area your are looking, your language skills and the region you will go. Also, it is not sure you get a residence visa without to be married. You will have to find an employer who can prove he can't find French/european for the job, so, you must be highly qualificated or have rare skills...
Actually, it is the same if us, as European, we want to work in USA.
Hi,

Hello,
My name is Veronique Smee. I have been living in England, Dorset and Somerset for the last 18 years. I am actually french but left France in 1992 to live in south east Asia before England. I am buying a flat right in the centre of Beziers and hoping to move in August. I thought it could be nice to be in touch with the expat community there. I am interested in any comment about life in Beziers. Thank you.
Bonjour mes amis,
My name is Nicholas and I’m a classical violinist planning a move to France.🎻🇫🇷 While my main doorway is through orchestral auditions in the coming months, I’m also an entrepreneur and a teacher, and I believe I bring value and have something special to offer as well.
While I am a performer I have an extensive background in education spanning over a decade, and I incorporate many aspects of mind/body wellness to create a holistic curriculum with which I have had tremendous success in my private studio and various classroom settings while living and working in New York. Musical studies require tremendous work and considering the health of mind and body should be integral parts of our craft as musicians! Drawing from my experienced background in movement, mindfulness, psychology, yoga, Alexander Technique, theatre, and dance, I teach in a way which nurtures a balance of traditional musical study with holistic aspects including breathwork, simple movement/stretches, performance psychology, and much more; all which I have bore witness to the tremendous benefit as they beautifully compliment traditional music practice/lessons, as well as providing an improvement in well being.
I would love to connect with any musicians/artists or anyone who has advice on finding a place to share what I have to offer either as a performer or an educator! Music is so special and I’ve seen how powerful it is in telling stories, healing, inspiring, and creating connections which bridge language and geographic barriers🙏🏼
cheers,
nicholas🎶

I've known STEFFIFI for a long time. According to your profile, you only joined the site 3 years ago. I have been a member since 2013/14 when it was called 'expat-blog', and she joined shortly after. You have missed a lot of her comments that were removed (I have been involved in reporting them!). Something that was deleted can not be proven unless screenshots were taken before. I have no reason to take screenshots lol. But the proof is in the fact she could not answer my question of whether she has been banned - because the answer is, yes she has. Her comments were removed and account disabled. Then upon her return, she decided to tone it down and behave herself heh. Because she knows she will be kicked out again! Lol.
HAHAHA I have never been banned!!! I just forgot my password several times, when I cleaned my computer, by example. Or because I had problems of connexion but I have NEVER been banned. I stopped for two-three years, I think, because I wanted it. But that's all Ask to admins if you are not convince But I repeat, I just to transcript European laws about work and visa...
Hi thank you

What are you trying to achieve with all this? Just stop this useless debate over things you cannot proof!
Hey! Flavia, Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro. I try to form a social network because all of us expatriates believe that we have gone through this situation.tks
Bonjour
Who are you referring to? Steffifi? If so, she's a native French speaker and, as an anglophone, I have to admit she speaks pretty good English. Unless your French is better than her English, I suggest you not criticize.

Thank you Robert.
It seems that some people have problems with me. I don't know why, but it doesn't matter, I use to be judged without to know who I am really And these persons have some problems with the immigration law, I guess...
I think I will stop to post in the English section, anyway... (my bad I could improve my English writing, but even that, it is a problem, apparently...)
Hi, I lived near Montpellier for over 20 years but in 2015 unfortunately had to move back to the UK for family reasons but now 6 years later I am back, delighted to be here, the only downside being that I am now on the Riviera, it was a work related choice of destination, so I am starting over and any advise on how to begin a new life in this area would be much appreciated from you guys.
I had the privilege of being involved in the villa holiday rental industry and this for the past 20 years in the south of France, for some reason five years ago I decided to take an exceedingly early retirement and moved away, quickly realizing how much I missed it…. I’m back!
I am now immensely proud to represent VILLA PLUS, one of the largest UK companies, operating for 36 years, that are in the unique position of being privately owned. Apart from that why do I consider them the best? They guarantee the property income for the rental season. Yes, unheard of, right? For all properties accepted once a figure has been agreed for the season that amount will be paid to the owner/management company even if some of the periods have not been rented.
My job is purely to visit the properties, see if they are suitable, have a coffee and a chat with the responsible person for the villa, give a price for the season, then leave. I have nothing to sell and if the offer is accepted great, the well-oiled machine at head office takes over, if it is not, I hope the person I met enjoyed our chat as much as I know I will. I will go anywhere in the whole of the Cote d’Azur at a time to suit you 7 days a week.
It would be my pleasure.
Steve

my husband will be retiring in a year or two and we will be moving to france with our 33 year old daughter. she will be studying for an advanced degree or teaching english as a second language. many years ago we lived in europe for four and a half years and france was our favorite destination. we have travelled through much of the country and are favorite areas are the less famous towns along the cote d azur and all of brittany. the cote d azur is out of our budget, but brittany is easily affordable. our daughter loves paris and we would like to be close enough so a monthly two to four day trip by train would not be unreasonable. she has a friend there who was our foreign exchange student. we want to eat lots of shellfish (our favorite food), shop at outdoor markets, go on lots of walks, and travel to other places in europe, especially greece, croatia, and italy. we hope we can get some advice on where to settle, insights into daily life in brittany, or other locations that would be a good fit for us. we will be buying a house, ideally over 190sqm and with at least 4000sqm and we would like to be no more than 20 minutes from the coast. we love so much about france and look forward to being there soon. thank you, deb:)
