It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.
Welcome on board!
Hello there!
US citizen here but very very interested in relocating to Malta. I visited a while ago and just loved it. I am divorced, so now that I’m single I figured this would be the perfect opportunity.
I saw a lot of the world while serving in the US military, it’s time to see some more of it. Looking for solid work and housing and then it’s on! I am so looking forward to a new adventure. It’s been to long.
If I were a US citizen I would be interesed in re-locating to anywhere.
Good luck.
Hello,

Hi All,
I am Italian and I am based in Malta when I am not working overseas. At present I am in Malta as I cannot travel to some countries in Africa and Middle East for work, due to Covid restrictions.
Malta is a small country but offers a lot in terms of entertainment, serenity and security.
During these years I noticed that the Maltese are generally ready to help when needed.
Take care and stay safe.
Belgian here who's looking for a job and a place to live in Malta.
Stunningly beautiful isle that offers the best of Mediterranean culture. But of course I don't have to tell you guys
hi, we are new to the forum and I hope for many, many answers to even more questions.
It starts with a moving company, goes through looking for a school, looking for an apartment, the right area to start with, insurance, left-hand traffic and finally the beloved paperwork and moving from my existing freelance work.
We are a Franco-German family and hopefully you know how to help us

Welcome to the Forum.
Have you visited Malta before? If not it’s advisable to come for a holiday first.
Many of the questions have been asked before especially school, if you do a search you should find the
answers you require, good luck.
Thanks.
And no. It sounds pretty stupid to have never been to a country and to emigrate there. Really stupid. However, the decision was made rationally and carefully. Nevertheless, corona willing, we will be in Malta in summer (also stupid decision: summer, heat, tourists).
I still have to rummage through the posts that are important to me, having time is not my strength.
But Gozo doesn't seem to be the first address for expats, as I've read (tend to stay separate, don't like strangers, speak more Maltese). I think I'll be a Gozo in a few years

There are a lot of expats living in Gozo and the locals are friendly, it’s quieter then Malta and I think a lot nicer. I would not consider moving to Malta without a visit first.
Hi all. I'm not relatively new on here. Been following the threads closely to get a picture of living in Malta is like from different opinions. I'm Asian married to Maltese and we have a 5yo daughter. Our plan of moving back to Malta is delayed due to several reasons, Covid is definitely one of them. My husband prefers Gozo for its serenity but I am concerned about schooling for our daughter due to language barrier. She doesn't speak a word of Maltese, neither do I. I read that Malta will offer a better "english environment" for her than in Gozo. I am following here to read more successful stories of yours.
Hi - introducing Valerie and Edward Herring.
We moved to Malta, from Florida, USA at the end of 2020, amidst the global pandemic. I am Maltese, and my family and I, left Malta when I was 12 years of age and immigrated to Australia. 18 years later, I met my American husband, moved to southern California and lived there and many other USA cities, for almost 40 years. After visiting or living in countries around the globe, we made the decision well before my husband retired (which he did in November 2020), to retire in Malta, the country of my birth. It has everything we are looking for: culture, history, fantastic weather and incredibly hospitable people, marvellous bus system, affordable cost of living, fabulous health care system, scrumptious food, wonderful archeological sites and of course, the gorgeous blue grotto. Quite honestly, there's much more to love about Malta, but I shall let you discover Malta's hidden secrets, when you get here.
We have not regretted moving here, one little bit and my American husband LOVES it here! It only took him a few short months to obtain his Maltese citizenship and then his Maltese passport! He's a very happy Malteser and so am I!
Malta is wonderful and so very different from the USA, so be prepared to slow down and take several steps back in time! Sorry we can't comment on the island of Gozo, because we have not been there in 10 years. Other members I'm sure, will be able to answer your questions re that subject.
Feel feel to reach to us, for additional information, if you wish.
Wishing you all the very best!
Valerie and Edward Herring (ex USA)

Most of these related to lifestyle, education etc is answered many times over here and easily found via search.
As for moving here, as you're now not EU citizens you will have to get a sponsored visa where an employer - after showing they cannot find a Maltese of EU citizen to do your job - decide to bring you here. Or you have to avail yourelf of one of the residency by investment programs, or perhaps you qualify as a highly skilled individual

It’s a shame you did not make the move before the end of last year as it will not be as easy now that you are TCN, as advised above most of your question have been asked many times already on here,
good luck.
Everyone seems to be assuming (or maybe I missed some information) that neither you nor your husband hold an EU citizenship. Is this the case ? Many Brits have been able to obtain, eg, Irish citizenship.
Yes sir mam I am come in a malta

As they never mentioned having EU citizenship we assume they haven't.
Hi my name is Tony and I have been living in Gozo for 12 years. Originally from Cardiff, UK. Very happy living here and find that the Maltese are very friendly & helpful. Also find that living in Gozo is relatively crime free and safe. My wife is a non EU, third country national,(Philippines) and has also settled in to Gozitan life really well.

Hello all!
I've just joined this forum looking for infos and tips
I am an Italian Engineer working as account manager and I am currently chasing a business opportunity which requires a relocation in Malta.
In the last days I am reading thousand of pages and article to better understand all the relocation flow but there are still few things I've not clarified yet.
This job relocation would makes me move my residence (physically and fiscally) therefore I expect I will be taxed only in Malta. On the other hand, I am an home owner in Italy therefore in case I generate earnings by renting this house or I simply keep it I would be somehow charged by Italy as well, right?
Anybody here faced the same situation?
Thanks a lot!
I don't think you would be taxed twice. You would probably be taxed in Italy and then declare it in Malta as tax paid. You need an expert, but tax system basically fair.
Check Malta Government website.

Hi Adriana and welcome,
Unfortunately at the moment, with a few exceptions, all travel to Malta is stopped unless you are fully vaccinated and that needs to have been done either in the UK, EU or Malta, and must not have been using the three Astra Zenica batches specified.
As you say, the language schools are being closed anyway so it looks as though your aim of coming here to study English is not going to be possible for quite some time.
Good luck in the future.

Welcome to the Forum, I don't know if you have visited Malta before, it's advisable to have a holiday here before deciding on making the move, the areas you have chosen are very busy and quite expensive places to live you need to visit these places and other areas before deciding . It's also
best to rent first before purchasing a property. Good luck.
Thank you Julien for such a warm welcome.
I am actively exploring new opportunities, but would ideally like to find a position that would allow me to work in Malta. Why specifically Malta? Because Europe was and will always be my dream place for tourism or to study and for work and live there.
When I was growing up I had a plan for higher studies in Malta, but there come phases in everyone's life, which vanishes all of those plans.
Now when I have work experience and I am financially stable to move to other countries to find a dream career in a dream place.
Malta nowadays has so many job openings and I would be very happy if someone can guide me to get a good career path to make my future according to what I thought.
I bring a solid understanding of best practices in administration, customer relations combined with exceptional problem-solving abilities. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience as an Insurance Executive in the United Arab Emirates.
I look forward to being loved and have guidance from members here
