Post new topic

Saw on news that Malaysia vaccination programme playbook will be released to general public by tomorrow, 16feb.

Registration to participate in the vaccination programme will be through the MySejahtera app. Apparently citizens and non citizens both are eligible to participate and get vaccinated.

Something to watch for...
Should anyone has more info on vaccination for expats in KL, pls do share. Will be useful to all, thanks.

I didnt watch the video but Khairy said on Youtube that vaccinations would be free for foreigners residing in Malaysia. Let me see if the video is still there.

Im trying not to have the vaccine and hope there wont be force. A problem for those who dont want it is continuing to develop in the travel sector. And I have several articles that say Asian airports wont open until next year, one from Israel says 2024 before travel. This can be devastating for people if it comes to that.

I dont blame people for being on the fence about the vaccine. Id like to wait a while and see how it goes--without coercion. People have already died from it and also injuries and I know nobody wants to be the next one. In the US, the case rate is declining much faster than the vaccine uptake rate and some doctors believe the virus could end by April. The reason is that herd immunity has taken hold, meaning that many more people have been exposed to covid than we thought. Here, unless there is 100% testing we dont know. Id love to have a test but not at these prices. In fact i'd go once a month if it were cheap or free like other countries. If we have had the virus and gotten through it, why worry then? Well, for those who havent had it, they could get infected from a carrier later on. Thats one argument for having the vaccine, but by waiting for Version 5 or 10 in a few years it might be more effective than this experimental version where everyone is a white rat.  On a good day, the vaccine is supposed to bolster the immune system and that may be very helpful to some with compromised systems like those with current or previous diseases. I figure we are all still learning about this and and thats why I want to wait.

I agree, but I just don't think we'll have a choice if we still want to travel. I prefer to go, if I have to, for a traditional vaccine such as the Chinese one. What are the options in Malaysia?

I dont know the options since Malaysia is buying vaccine from different countries, including Russia now. As ive said elsewhere, the current travel situation is vaccine, or test before flight, or proof you had covid and recovered from it in the past three months (i dont know what that means if you recovered six or eight months ago). And there is Common Pass coming which is, to me personally, a sinister proposal by strange forces out there to push to world to accept the idea that a person cant make any movement without a pass which holds your complete health history and up to date vaccines so that those not meeting a certain standard are denied movement like travel. This is a bizarre thing right out of novels. Imagine a world in which those are locked in their houses for not fitting an arbitrary, ideal physical model.

Why am I worried in general and question the vaccine at all? Because nothing is normal. Covid is being abused to re-imagine the planet and life itself and nothing is going to open up until rules, laws, mechanisms and penalties are in place to accomplish this. Well, people will wake up pretty soon to a new world which some will blindly accept and some wont. The fact that someone says, "do this, or else," or "do it for the community safety of the world," doesnt make it all OK or right. We had big viruses before and we got through them without changing the world. Why wont they let us get through it now without changing the world first? Sure, i question that.

Its fine if im alone in this thinking. I only suggest going slow and thinking things through.  Our lives are being tampered with, worthy of concern. Stick up for your life.

Speaking of registration, before administering vaccine shot - is there any prior health check with the patient as a process to verify any preexisting health conditions he/she may have not be listed on the registration form?

when you register in mysejahtera app, there is an option you can tick on any underlying health conditions, so i think they will take that as a record when you are called for vaccination...that's as far as i know, im not sure if they will do a second round of check once you're taking the vaccine

1. Have come across people speaking of body pains and weaknesses for almost a week after vaccination. Anyone knows of anyone having side effects after vaccination or is it happening to people due to their prior health weakness or comorbities?

2. Has anyone received any update on vaccine registration appointments on My Sejahtera app for general public / expats ?

Thanks!

Yes the Chinese vaccine SinoVac is not effective, the efficacy is at 50% and have some side effects. No way I will take this vaccine. I am going for the best Pfizer vaccine at 95% efficacy. In the app you can find all your information regarding your registration, a health assessment and the next steps planned for you. Also you can find in your profile your digital or barcode including your area and health zones designation. I’ve been following the news and reading a lot of articles about the vaccination progress and it seems on May 1, 2021 they will receive another 1.1 millions doses of Pfizer Vaccine. Registration for the vaccine is very low and they may change the plan to get as many people vaccinated as possible. The only question I have that I have not got an answer for and it’s not clear on their website how they will treat expats When it comes to priority in their three phases. The rumor is Expats will be scheduled in the last group starting in September 2021 to February 2022 because under phase 3 they have indicated it’s for citizen and non-citizen while in phase 1 and 2 they use only the word Citizen.

Thanks
