Naramar

Hello all, my kids are born in uruguay, from a danish father (my ex hisband).
I would like them to study in dk but, as im in legal posession of the tenence and they are still under 18, i would like to reside there with them. Their father Lives in Denmark with his new Germán wife, so also for them woul be easier to see their  father.
Can i live and work in Dk by being a mother of danish children?

Many many thanks!!!!!!!

:(  hello, well.... do you think the vaccine here will be less dangerous 🤷🏻‍♀️?

The vaccines are very safe here in Denmark, ***

Call the Borger service for accurate information about your status with your children. They are automatically Danish citizens if their father was Danish. Hit the link I gave you, good luck.

Hello Naramar, Welcome to the forum!

Most ideal and competent person to provide you with the right information you are seeking about is Nelly Berg- Denmark expert. But I think she would appreciate to know two things before.

1, If your children were born after or before 2014.07.01 because the exact current law concerning citizenship through a Danish father had come into force from that day. Which is very crucial in your case.

2. If all the births were reported to the relevant authorities in this case to nearest Danish Embassy.

As you can see I am not providing you any information but helping to get the best possible reply, which hopefully is on the way. All the best!

Call the Borger service they will give you accurate information. I tried to give you the link but this site won't allow it.

Pianorory, She doesn't belong to any kommune yet, so the link of the borger service you are trying to give her, will not going to help her anyway at this stage.

Even if a child born to a Danish father, if the child was born outside of the Danish territory before 2014.07.01 there was a different law concerning automatical citizenship of the child.

Pianorory

The Borger service has all the rules for foreigners that's who she should call.
I had the experience when I moved here of  "Never take advice from people unless they are working for the Government"

Yes, of course exactly as you are doing some people can give false or worthless information with good intentions, you gave her the information about current law concerning automatical citizenship without double checking background information. And another thing Borger service is mainly for people who already live inside the country.

Hi Naramar,

Your questions raise a host of questions, and the answers will depend on your answers.

Despite having this information, this will be a matter for SIRI.  You're always welcome to contact SIRI for information ad advice, but at this time - due to Covid19 - the administration time is extended, and SIRI cannot say how long.

I take that you know about the 22 years rule, and that your chance to enter Denmark as a follower runs out when your kids have turned 18 years.

When your kids meet the requirements, they can apply for continued citizenship at UM:
