I'd like to introduce myself.  I'm British, retired and for the past 14 years have lived in a tiny village in North Eastern Hungary with my two dogs.

I came here having lived and worked for over 30 years in South Africa and the French overseas department of Mayotte.  Rather a contrast particularly where the weather's concerned, but apart from that I've loved every minute of living here.

Welcome .........  :)

Being able to keep and enjoy the company of two dogs is already a big plus. Congratulations and welcome! I hope you continue to enjoy. We also like dogs, but they do not have the same lifespan as humans and sometimes sad goodbyes. I hope your dogs and of course yourself are in good health.

Share whatever you wish and I promise we will not beat you up over it.
I miss my dog so much that I dare not ever get another.
Doubt I could replace him anyways even if I tried.
It's been since Dec. 26th 1999 and I still miss his presence.
As you may be able to tell, I'm a bras American but down to earth over all.
My HU husband and I have retired to Hungary ,we still have not totally settled in in over a decade.
Must be the ,"Rambling Man" in him and I'm pretty much never put down roots anywhere for long.
I wonder if you have met any fellow ex-pats where you live and how do you like living in the ,"outskirts" ?
I've been wanting to check out a more remote place here other then Budapest but my husband is a true city boy and isn't too interested in caring for a lawn, garden or anything like that.
He still wishes to return to Hawaii and surf again, dreamer that he is...
