Retirement in Bali

Post new topic

michaelwilliams

Hello.
I am an almost 69 year old man living in Sweden. I would like to hear any advice about the possibility of my moving to Bali- I have never been to Indonesia, but have become interested
from reading about it. I have a retirement income of about $20,000 a year, but little in savings. I do own half a property in Sweden, but would be leaving that to my partner. Would I be able to retire there with just my pensions, if I came with just $4000 in cash?I am quite fit and strong for somebody my age, but I have had a minor stroke, and diabetes 2 for which I do not require medication. I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi michael,
Im a local indonesian that used to work in hotel and leisure industry here. Lets just make a simple calculation:
The flight from stockholm to denpasar bali will cost around $1.100
The permit will cost around  $900 for 2 years.
The cost of living with modest lifestyle is around $1.900 monthly.
For accomodation you can choose to rent a small villa with 2 bedrooms for about $400 monthly but there are always an option.. so i can say you can enjoy spend your good time in bali with your current status..
