Hello ,
I am an Indian national living in USA on dependent visa. My husband got an opportunity from his company to move to Germany.  My husband has all the documents in place but my education documents from India are misplaced. I have all other documents like marriage certificate and passports , etc. So my question is if we want to go through this process, do we need my education documents.

Thank you
Naz

Well, I don't think your education makes a difference to the Family Reunion Visa that you need to follow your husband to Germany. But if you want to work there, you of course need proof of what you learned.

I agree with Beppi. No reason that one's immigration would be blocked since there is no requirement to have a degree in this case.

But having a educational title has a meaning in  Germany and using one without having the credentials can be punished. And for some professions, like being a physician, there are licensing requirements that will require proof of a degree. And of course potential employers are likely going to want to check as well. If you have really misplaced your diplomas then you should contact the issuing places to get official replacements, something that might take some time. But again, this should not be a obstacle to immigration.

Thank you for your reply,
Yes I am in the process of getting them but due to pandemic and they are from 20 years ago, it will take forever.
