I am from the US but I live in Flanders and I'm married to a Belgian since 2019, after getting my documents I did a job in a fabric for few weeks but then the pandemic started and I went to study a master. Therefore, I do not have my own income. Me and my husband are wondering if I am eligible for tax allowance for dependent spouse?
If so, when would I get it?
I recently received a letter for vakantiegeld, although I only worked less than a month... but I've never received anything for tax allowance and we just found out about it because of a friend.

When you worked you paid tax. Since you worked just few weeks as you state you will fall in the lowest tax break. Provided that your partner has been working as well you might be eligible for a refund. You will find out in May for 2020 tax year. Have a look at tax on web portal during May when your declaration will become visible.
