Good morning to all expats and denizens in the State of Kuwait!

Humidity. I woke up this morning, took a look outside my window and thought the world had disappeared, then I came to realise that the water droplets had just obscured my vision of the school right across from my building, and felt dismay.

If I hear one more person say "London weather", I'll scream! This is Kuwait, not London.

So, the title. The concept is known universally under several names, it is also referred to as the Acorn system.

The reason the good people (they know who they are) banded together and created this website was to give current and future expats in any location across the globe a platform on which to meet, greet and air out any questions they might have regarding expatriation to a new locale.

Despite what some people may think, there are no "bots" here, it is humanity that drives the wheel of knowledge here.

Now, plenty of new comers, rightfully so, ask the same questions regarding rent, accommodation, salary expectations, living costs etc. There are quite a few active people who seek to give information for the sake of giving information, whilst the rest are "sleepers" or "one-hit-wonders", they ask their questions, get their answers and are never heard from again (not to mention those who appear to have wandered onto the forum for all the wrong reasons, PMing strangers with extremely person requests :S)

What keeps this forum fresh, interesting and thriving is the experiences of the people that come here and the ones that are here, not just the ones who want to come here. Did something interesting over the weekend? Brag about it. Want to do something over the weekend (must have ideas and follow-thru, not just suggestions)? Say it. Arrived recently and had a cultural shock? Air it out. Arrived and thrived? Pray do tell!

Receive help and give help in return, it will serve to make this forum a much more exciting place. There are a few others on the forum here that give amazing insight and advice, u know who you are, and your efforts are much appreciated :)

As for the rest, here's hoping to hear more from you soon. Active participation will serve to make people's stay in Kuwait much more enjoyable!

So go ahead, start a new topic, write something interesting :)

I started a thread called "Info about Kuwait". It includes some categorized information about Kuwait that I've compiled.
I hope that people will contribute to adding more information.

Thanks
