We are currently building a small guesthouse/hotel on the South Coast, and while we, out of principle, are trying to source as much as possible locally, we need to import some finishing details. However, we are finding it very difficult to get information on the current COVID import restrictions. Does anyone know of custom clearing agents or have any information or advice on how to go about it?  We find it difficult to get information from the bigger customs clearing houses as we are not doing full container loads, and the import is just for our build. All advice and reccos appreciated  🙂

Hejsa Lars, Clearing and forwarding is a field that is pretty much dominated by Sri Lankan muslims (and Sinhalese too) and they all speak good English so you will be fine there.

Just search via different local sites such as rainbowpages.lk , yellowpageslk.com and also google to find registered agencies (take note if it is stated "eligible for government tenders" it is an indication that says that they are fully registered according to the standard) and then call them and describe the situation before you decide for an in person meeting.

Here you have little bit of study material :)http://www.customs.gov.lk/law/home

Held og lykke!
