Post new topic

Cheryl

Hi everyone,

Being happy is surely our common goal, whether we are living in Sweden as an expat or somewhere else.
We would love to know your tips and tricks to be fully fulfilled and happy as an expat in your host country.

New environment may require new habits. Which habits did you have to implement to live a good life in Sweden?

How do you keep stress in check? Which activities or mantras help you in that regard?

How to form meaningful connections and create a support system in Sweden on which you can rely on?

How to track your goals and achieve them without feeling overwhelmed?

What did you learn from Swedes about the notion of happiness and how does it inspire you?

Thanks for your contribution!

Think about if you buy your favorite car but if you still don't have your drivers license, so all what you can do is only move the car from your garage to driveway, back and forth, day after day, all year round, maybe once in a while at an early morning of a red day you take a risk and drive it to the nearest automatic car wash to enjoy the washing process from inside, or you find your own different tricks to handle this unique situation both to own your car and the same time not to have it. All this because of you can't drive it on the road, in other words you now own your favorite car but you have no ability to use it fully, not even 10 percent of it. How do you think you would feel if you are stuck in such a situation?

That's exactly how you will feel if you live in Sweden without mastering the Swedish language, in other words, not that happy, always kind of complaining about this and that. So "How to be happy as an expat in Sweden" very simple just learn the language and master it. It helps you to make everything tailor-made just to fit you well in the long run.
