I would like to visit Accra for up to 3 months. Is there a renter availed for 800 a month? A decent place with air conditioning in or near accra for a white American?

There is. Very cool and siren environment

Hi, are you on Facebook? If you are, you can join the Ghana Ex-pat Community group. Post your queries there and there are trusted agents to help you. There are apartments in serene environments in Accra that fits your budget. Especially places like Osu & Labone.

*** Saw your post and wanted to drop you a line. You can find short term rentals  for $800 but it'll be very no-frills. If you want backup electricity and water, modern finishes and fixtures, or things like a gym and swimming pool, you'll need to raise your budget.

Also, in case you want to be around other expats, focus your search on these areas: Ridge, East Legon, Airport Residential, Cantonments, Labone, Dzorwulu, Abelemkpe.

Good luck with your search.

Looking to rent a two bedroom apartment. How much is the average cost?

It depends on where you want to live. The further out of town it gets cheaper. You are probably looking at $1000 -$2000 a month and a lot more for expat areas but landlords usually ask for at least 6 months up front
