Complicated Renewal Situation

Hi guys, just heard back from my HR.   I am in a very weird / complicated situation.  Hotel groups in Singapore are allowed to share quota as long as they are managed by a single company (in my case, company A).  My quota was in company A.  Now that they are “transitioning” company A to a new entity, company B, MOM had told my HR that sharing of quotas is not allowed.  HR explained to MOM that the properties will still be manned by our new management, company B.  HR also reached out to STB regarding the sharing of quotas.  HR told me that MOM called them yesterday morning that in order to “process” my pass, HR needs to amend this and do that (they did not specify why), although HR doesn’t want to give me false hope, they did tell me that I have a slim chance of getting my pass approved before my pass expires on the 2nd week of July.

Is there any similar cases to mine?  HR told me that they should receive the news soon.  I only have 9 days before my pass expires.  AFAIK, they can only apply my renewal once MOM/STB says “ok you can share quotas”.

From MoM's viewpoint, the case is clear:
All companies have their quota and no S-Pass will be approved above it.
"Sharing" of quota between companies is not possible.
It does not matter that company A worked at several places, they have one quota and you did fit in it.
Now you are changing to company B. This is formally not a renewal, but a new pass application for a new employer. Thus if company B does not have space for you in their quota, you will not get that pass.

Hi Beppi, sorry for the confusion.  Company A is going to “transfer” all the properties to Company B.  Company A and B is the same thing, there is just a “reconstruction” going on, hence, we are unable to “share” the quota yet.

Legally, per SG government records, all the paperwork must be sorted to clarify the stance and quota. If it is ‘in the works’ as you mention, your application must wait.
