That is like asking what town or town is cheaper to live in the south or west of England.

You have to do a bit of research first on which places may interest you and narrow the areas down.

This is the tourist board website which has loads of information on all parts of DR and can be read with a map of DR. If you are not fluent in Spanish your choices narrow to resort areas.

You are not the first expat to not appreciate the size of this part (DR) of Hispaniola.

It is over twice the size of Wales to give you a comparison but with more mountains and less roads. Maybe about the size of Southern England south of Severn to Thames estuaries again with mountains and very few roads in comparison. It takes time to get around this country unless you have a helicopter.
