Take Internal Flight Under Quarantine Requirement

Post new topic

AfroPrince

Hi guys,

Does anyone on the ground know if there would be an issue taking an internal flight under the required 14 day quarantine period after arriving in Brazil?

The declaration of health form that is required to be completed asks you to confirm that you will quarantine if arriving from certain countries.  However, I MUST travel to another state within that quarantine period..

If I actually must travel internally, am I OK to take a flight or do I have to think about travel by road etc?  I want to know if authorities are actively pursuing/prosecuting, and what I might need to do to avoid issues.  What options do I have?

Thanks!

Texanbrazil

Are you really wanting to break the Heath Protocol when just arriving?
Not a good idea and yes the PF and National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) are enforcing between airports.
Please think of others in times like these.

What part of "quarantine" do you not understand?

Thankfully my vocabulary covers the meaning of all the words I used in the initial post and I'm very well aware of the troubling times we are in - However, "IF " there was an urgent and imperative need to travel (obviously not for leisure), are there any options.?

Thanks for the above input, however I am looking for options that I may not be aware of.

Thanks,

Texanbrazil

Check with your Surveillance team in your area.
I know here they do random checks and initially give you a contact number.

If this has to do with extending a CRNM, call the Federal Police tomorrow morning, explain your situation,  and ask for guidance.   Chances are good that they'll tell you to come in at the end of your quarantine.

For other urgent situations, Texanbrazil's advice to contact the Surveillance team is spot on.

Breaking quarantine without permission could result in a seat on the next plane out and a ban on returning.

*ETA*  And, whether speaking to the Federal Police or the Surveillance Team, if you're fully vaccinated and have the proof with you, be sure to bring that up, even if they don't ask.  I normally don't recommend volunteering information, but in this one instance, it can only help.

Texanbrazil

abthree is right. Here the PF uses civil and municipal police to monitor quarantine situations. Violations are reported to Anvisa and hefty fines for citizens as to non-citizens with CRMN I have no idea.

Looks like it could be a ban or worse given the circumstances.

AfroPrince

Thank you for the replies..,

Just so I am clear, when you say Surveillance team who are we referring to please?  Are these the civil and municipal police?

Texanbrazil

Surveillance teams are comprised of health care workers which will come to your place of quarantine or contact you. If one is not found the  Surveillance team reports the information to the civil/municipal police to investigate.
Being that you are a PR and at the end of quarantine they offer a vaccination appointment here in Parana.

There could be no need so urgent as to be in total and complete disregard for your fellow man and their health.

The only viable solution is a flight into GRU and a continuing flight to your final destination, where you will then quarantine for 14 days.

Flying into GRU, hanging out for a few days and then flying to another location because the law somehow doesn’t apply to you is another matter entirely.
