Hello,

Does anyone have experience for unsuccessful work permit application after appeal.

Firstly, MOM rejected my pass because put wrong name of university  and the employer have submitted appeal. After waiting 20 days,  my pass still not approved and show the status appeal is unsuccessful and there is no reason. Just show as below,

"We refer to your recent appeal for S Pass for the above applicant
We regard to inform you that you appeal is unsuccessful "

Possible to submit new S Pass application by same employer or is there any particular ways to get for approval?

Please advise to me. Thanks,

beppi

A new apication by the same employer can be submitted for another job.
But your chances might be higher at another employer.

Hi Beppi.

Thank you so much for your reply promptly. I just can submit S pass new application on 10 Aug earliest by same employer as they need to show job available and wait 28 days on government website (my careers future).

So, is that possible a chance to get approval by same employer with new application?

In order to get chances from another employer, it is very difficult in current situation as I need to find a job and also wait 28 days on government website.

My current pass will be cancel on 10 Aug, so they said that need to got back my country on 23 Aug. May I know that we got 1 month after cancellation as usual or current employer can adjust my stay with MOM.

Should I go to MOM and to discuss with officer?

Kindly advise and all reply much appreciated. Thanks,

beppi

Any employer must post a job on the jobs bank (mycareersfuture) BEFORE considering any foreigner for it - and MUST hire any suitable local before advertising the job for foreihners.
Thus the 28 days waiting time is not the norm and before it ends you cannot have a guarantee that you will get that job.
You get a 30-days-SVP after cancellation of your current work pass and that is not renewable under normal circumstances.

Thank you so much for your explanation in details.

May I ask you a bit more questions,

My current employer can reduce to 14 days stay instead of 30 days to MOM after cancellation or just get 30 days- SVP automatically?

After 30-days-SVP, could I get a chance to extend my stay again under which special circumstances need to be mentioned?

Who (my current employer or new employer who issued the S pass ) is responsible and perform for more extension days after 30 days-SVP?

Kindly assist to reply as I don't to go back to my country during this critical Covid 19 situations.  Really appreciated.

The only reasons for renewing this SVP are
- Medical: You are unfit for travel, as certified by a doctor.
- Travel restrictions: There are no flights to your country available within the 30 days.
If one of these applies to your situation, your ex-employer must apply for the SVP extension.
Hint: If you book a flight back to your country a short time (days, not weeks!) after the 30 days end and visit MoM in person shortly before they end, the officers there are sometimes lenient and might give you these few days extension - but there is no guarantee!

Hello everyone,

Recently I got a job offer in an IB school. They offered me $4500 under work permit as a primary 2nd grade teacher. However, MOM has cancelled my application.

Can anybody tell me the reason?

Your application submitter/ employer will have to check with MoM on the reason, it is 99% of the times communicated (to the submitter) when an application is rejected.

Did you review threads on this forum? You have to invest time to get answers (it’s discussed countless times).

Uttarpara: A Singapore "Work Permit" (WP) is for manual labourers from certain source countries - not for teachers.
If you used "Work Permit" to mean any Singapore work visa: Only MoM can tell the rejection reason (and they will tell it only to the employer). But you can read about the various work visa types and their requirements, as to get an indication of what might be missing.
For example, an "Employment Pass" (EP), which is the most common visa type for a teacher, has a minimum salary requirement of S$4500/month for a fresh graduate. If you have any higher education (e.g. Master) or work experience, your minimum will be higher and that is likely the rejection reason.

Thank You Beppi for the clarification.

Yes I have B.Sc, B.Ed and M.ed degrees with 8 years of experience.

I would like to ask one more question.

What should be my salary as a teacher to get an EP with above mentioned qualifications ?   Please give your opinion. I am new to SG so don't have much idea about the salary chapter.

uttarpara

HR department told me that MOM did not disclose the reason.

Hi there!
There's MOM SAT tool where you can check eligibility yourself as well.
https://www.mom.gov.sg/eservices/servic … sment-tool

Hope this helps!

uttarpara

yes , I have checked SAT also. As per SAT my minimum salary should be 7500. Will any school offer me such a huge salary?

beppi

Uttarpara: The salary thresholds given by the SAT are not "such a huge salary", but the normal market rate for this kind of job. According to that, your current offer is grossly underpaid!
(Also note that, as Singapore is one of the most expensive places on earth, S$4500/month would only be fine for you alone - you cannot bring wife and kids!)

nainghtetengr

Hi Beppi,
I really appreciated for your messages. I will try my best and believe to get S pass approval soon.
Thank you so much for you kindness assistance and reply each questions patiently.

uttarpara

Hello Beppi, thank you so much for your answers.

Actually , I am on DP. My husband is on EP. I am facing rejection also for not being Native English Speaker. On the top of it most of the schools are allowing only PR/Singaporean. Now this salary issue and MOM's approval added one more barrier for me.

beppi

Uttarpara: These are not the best preconditions (and the best time) for finding a teaching job. But since you are on DP, you can also stay on in Singapore without working - volunteering for a good cause is possible without work visa and very welcome!
