If I read it correctly, then being married to a Vietnamese national or being a legal father to a child born in Vietnam with Vietnamese citizenship would make you an exception to Article 3 of that law, meaning no renunciation is required.
The hassle and paperwork needed to gain this is not worth it. Having a VEC is a much easier road I believe.

I agree with you 100%. There's no hassle and cost very little to apply for a VEC, and a short trip to Thailand or Singapore once a year shouldn't be a burden to even a non-traveller (who ever heard of an expat who doesn't like to travel?)
Speaking of VEC, ours will be expired in a little more than 6 months. I don't know if the government will issue new VEC and/or if the borders will open for us to validate it.

Rick
Now HCMC has gotten 600,000 more doses from the Pasteur Institute.

They've given 2.97 million vaccine doses in HCMC so far.

That's interesting to know.. correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there some stipulation after holding two consecutive TRCs makes it easier to apply for permanent residence?
Getting abut ahead of things

There's no part in Circular No. 04 /2015/TT-BCA saying that at all. It only states that the spouse or parent of a Vietnamese nationals can apply for PRC (10 years) after residing here for 3 years.
Whether the reality reflects the law is another matter.

His experiences were only with large cities in France; all of them happened before we were married and all of them negative. Therefore, when I presented to him the 3 choices, he immediately veto the first one.
My only experience with France may be similar. I found it exceptionally warm and humid in the interior portions (Paris) during summer. The Mediterranean and Normandy coasts may be better but I believe most of the country gets quite warm.

Indeed it does and in the winter it can be very cold. One of my sons lives in south inland France and it's lovely to visit in May or September but too cold in winter and too hot in July and August.

The frosty mornings in winter are part of the joys certainly in the Dordogne & by 11am the suns up its beautiful. Having defined 4 seasons is another Joy. Sitting in front of the log fire of a winters night with a glass of cheap wine.......cant beat it.

If anyone is banned because of such comment, I don't have a hand in it. Just want to say that my one line about Parisian looking down on everyone including their compatriots in other cities (fact, not opinion) was pulled recently because someone complained to the mod.
That's why I couldn't answer goodolboy truthfully when he asked the reason my husband said no to my #1 choice of retirement location.

Actually & I can be as scathing about our friends across the channel but in the Dordogne they were sort of OK being rural. Friday night line dancing down the "la salle des fêtes" was the highlight of the mingling experience Brits & Locals. Mind you I could play a double card ( historically) being British & Scots.
The place was steeped in English history & Richard the Lion heart's innards are pickled & buried in a monastery in Aquitaine.

French military victories
WHAT DOES FRENCH MILITARY VICTORIES MEAN?
I'm sorry, no results were found. Did you mean French military defeats?
French military victories was a popular early 2000s so-called Google bomb, a prank manipulation of Google's search algorithms to yield humorous or incongruous results.
And still as funny today as it was back then,,, If your English

Yeah I can say if your looking for people who dont like visitors pop in to a bar in Aberystwyth Wales my uncle and I walked in and not one soul in the place lift a head, said a word or gave a smile, we had to ask 3 times to get the barman to pour us a pint, cant say it's in my top 1,000 place to revisit.

Yea & try "The Grays Inn? Aberdeen, if you can get served its a bonus & if you get out again alive its a victory.

Remember that Richard Plantagenet probably spoke no English and likely considered himself a Norman French king who also got to rule England. As far as French victories in battle, there was always the one in 1066.

Walked into a bar in 1979 called The Snake Pit, which is located in the outback mining city of Mt Isa in Australia. The bar was blacker than midnight, not a white face to be seen. Before getting the chance to order a drink the barman suggested we leave whilst we had the chance.

Having been born in Lincoln Lincolnshire England the cathedral was built in 1072 by the Normans so I'm well aware of that small loss, still think of the French as cheese eating surrender monkeys as Jeremey would say Old habbits die hard hahaha

Very nice city Lincoln & the cathedral is spectacular, I stayed at a hotel right beside it (forget the name) . Working for BP at the time I did a 3 week training course at the Lincoln Gas Turbines factory in 1974.

When I left school they had work for dole scheme i actually worked for stone Mason shop in the cathedral helping carry & position repairs,, the crew of 4 of us got moved to one of the buildings next to cathedral the sub Deanery we were tasked with stripping the brown paint of the oak panels with paint stripper,, nasty stuff,, years later i saw a documentary about the "Christopher Wren" oak panel design omg if I had only known I would have been more careful with the paint scraper!
Tip: if you go to end of nave sit in left hand stone seat and lean back and look behind column there is graffiti a ship carved in and BW 1354,,, so graffiti is pretty old lol.

Ahhhhhhhh yea thats it Andy, Ruston, not Lincoln. All the Forties platforms had them, 4 for power generation & 4 for pumping the oil to shore side.
I remember the walk up the hill to the hotel & the cathedral was hard going especially after a night on the town!

Not technically right 1066 (Norman Conquest) were actually of Viking decent I think & not Franks.

Certainly things would have been a bit muddy when considering different alliances that made the Norman Conquest possible.
It's really fascinating to know the history of the royal houses of Europe and how closely they were associated with each other at various times.
But specifically dealing with William the Conqueror, there is nothing to indicate that his immediate forbears were Vikings.
However, it can be said with 100% certainty that he was a true bastard...

Didnt work for Israel, most are vaxxed but have soaring cases. Monthly booster shots are the only way to go. If the first 2 dont work people need a bigger dose. Then the world can be safe and go back to the new normal

The vaccine DOES NOT keep a person from contracting Covid but it lessens the chance of dying from the Covid.

Especially as there now seems to be another Variant doing the rounds worse than delta..
3rd round of shots is nearly done and now they are starting the 4th round which is great news. If we can get a monthly booster we can all go back to normal. I feel sorry for the people who took 2 and now are treated like unvaxxed people but they should just get their jabs and save lives.

Here in Ireland, most adults are vaccinated and there are still lots of cases, but far fewer people getting seriously ill. I think we just have to accept this situation and get on with our lives.

True but I could foresee a future in which we get an annual booster, perhaps in the same vial as our annual flu shot. Disclosure: This is not based on any medical information other that what is in the general press. That and gut feeling.

I agree with you and so did the VN government. Even before Delta wreaked havoc on the country, the previous PM (who is now the President) already spoke of having the vaccine to be part of automatic childhood immunisation in the future. (Don't ask me to find the date of that speech. I saved it in my Covid folder but the number of items in it already reaches 3 digits, there's no way I can find anything now.)

My fiancée who is a doctor in HCMC and several others have said that the annual vaccine shot is in the future.

Ah well more good news to start the day
I said a while back that Singapore had announced that they would count deaths not cases and would open up and live with covid as the new norm.
The new norm is more and more countries are now saying the exact same thing, the vaccine DOES NOT prevent anyone from catching it, it DOES NOT stop anyone from carrying it and passing it on, what it DOES do is lessen your chances of death.
There are heaps of videos with Highly qualified Doctors stating that once had you have better antibodies than given by a vaccine and that if you get it then get a vaccine later your anti-bodies go up.
So their professional opinion is the young & not in a high-risk group will get natural protection which could be boosted later, giving more time for long term data on the current vac's, which seems the best balance between people who don't want their children vaccinated and getting more data before they do.
Let's hope that both sides of this topic open up as it now seems to be the "new norm".
In contrast back in Oz they closed a whole state of 8 mill + for 3 deaths which seems to be like opening a egg with Thors hammer which seems to be the "new norm" for them.
