Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for biotechnologist/laboratory assistant/research assistant roles in Singapore. It's true it's been limiting due to the pandemic. I have been applying online and networking on LinkedIn. I'm seeing that countries including Singapore would have higher demands for biotechnologist for biologics/biopharmaceuticals in the next months/years. Any other tips on how to apply for jobs/get interviews during the pandemic?

By networking, you have already started one of the most important steps for finding a job.
More advice can be found in various forum threads, which you should read. But of course the situation isn't easy right now - at least you are in Singapore (according to your profile), can attend interviews in person and don't need entry approval.
Good luck!

Thanks beppi! Actually, I'm in my home country. So it's gonna be extra harder. Still optimistic as Singapore plans to open in the future and is doing a great job in executing their plan. All the best!

Your profile says that you are in Singapore. Please correct that!
Traditionally (pre-COVID) it was very hard to get an interview invitation if one is not in Singapore yet. Now, it is very hard even if one is already in the country - and near hopeless from abroad (due to political changes, the added uncertainty and risk of travel restrictions and entry permit rejections).
I recommend you wait for the crisis to recede and then come for a job search visit. Until then, continue to network as much as you can.

Not sure why it's showing I'm in Singapore. When I checked my profile, it say I'm from PH who wants to move to SG.

Nonetheless, thanks for the advice! Never giving up!

It’s possible.
I’ve just got an job offer in biomaterial field at a government research institute in Singapore. I applied from outside Singapore (a high risk country) during COVID-19 pandemic. However, I’m still waiting for an entry approval. My HR said there is a way to bring research scientist to Singapore although it takes some times. I have very few experience but holding PhD with several related publications and patents. I think at least you should try!

Thanks Mike! That's very uplifting. Congrats and hope you get your entry approval soon!
