Hi  Everyone,

I need some of your thoughts/insights about  the New measure implemented by MOM  for Construction,Marine, and Process Sector.

Link:
https://www.mom.gov.sg/newsroom/press-r … mp-sectors

I just want to highlight this statement:

b) From July 2021, the validity of In-Principle Approvals (IPAs) of all work pass holders, including Employment Passes, S Passes and Work Permits, who are unable to enter Singapore due to border control measures, will be extended by up to one year.

For those in CMP sector:

What do you think from above statement, takes a year or half a year to open new window for new entry approval (for those who are waiting for new entry permit from high risk country)?

I need your idea on this.

Thank you.

Entry of IPA holders is currently restricted due to COVID.
This automatic extension by a year means that MoM thinks (hopes?) that within that timeframe the measures would be lifted and all IPA holder can enter Singapore.
But, honestly, nobody knows whether that is correct, or too short or long.

This is indefinite time of waiting. Even MoM  at chat live  can't state  a specific date.  With this statement  "will be extended by up to one year." meaning they adding more time of waiting for those who are Outside Singapore, making us more anxious.

Anyways thanks for sharing of your thoughts  :) .
