With everything that is going on with Malaysia's government and our beloved MM2H program, reports like this is not helping Malaysia one bit.

How does Brunei have faster speeds than Malaysia? I think that's what the kids call a Fail.

And yet they all seem better than Northern CA. LOL

With changes to mm2h rules, not sure how many people will even prefer to continue here for long term. One is political instability and top it up there are now new rules on mm2h which apparently is also a big source of revenue to the country and so many local people employed for it as agents, etc. Not sure the underlying idea but indeed these new rules reflects that the country now intends to discourage foreigners and expats to stay on for long term.

In my opinion, if you don't have any skin in the game like I do (my inlaws are from Malaysia) why would anyone trust the Malaysian government now especially if they stay with the ridiculous rules and don't help the current participants?  At the very minimum, they should hold to the letter for the current participants.  Let them live out their lives and renew by the original terms.  If whatever Malaysian government gets smart and quick, it would modify the new rules down to something workable and reasonable.  It would be stupid to allow that flight of capital from the country and then prevent new money from coming in.  Why change?  The numbers never really supported a deluge of participants.  What there is though is a deluge of vacant properties everywhere.  You want help and money but are worried about foreigners.  Pick one, please....

Unlike where there are relatives based in Malaysia, there are others who just wanted to retire in Malaysia. Found this video coverage on one of local news. Foreigners are defo considering other country options unless gov plans to review their updated rules

I saw that video when it first came out and when I decided to do my Change.org petition I commented to his video.  I don't know why but my comment informing him about my petition would not appear. Maybe someone here can suggest perhaps why Youtube won't allow my post or maybe I am doing something wrong.  If someone wants to help me, please forward my Change.org petition to Facebook groups that apply.  Yeah, it is just symbolic but we need to show that a lot of people do care.  Look at at how many people viewed his video (I think close to 20k now).  So, clearly a lot of people are at least interested in the subject.  If the Malaysian government is smart, it should recognize this huge error of theirs before it is too late.

Anyone reading this, please chime in and sign my petition if you agree with it in principle and want to tell the Malaysian government that it has to fix the program.
