Change the profession before iqama exipre. Ask your company to give you a profession not related to SOCPAL

Change profession is locked.

How they will. Can company change staffs profession. If they get SOCPA cancelation pls. Update

Dear All,

Don't panic just visit your nearest SOCPA Center they will guide you for reactivation of you your expired Membership, they will recommend some courses just do those.

i did my bachelor in economics,
now they cancelled my Socpa registration ,
so how can i renew my registration to renew my iqama which will be
expired on 5th February 2022.

Next Academic Enrolment is in January 2022 and the semester  courses will start from February onwards.

only two ways either you do an accounting course from SOCPA which is around SAR22425/-
once you enrol it you will get automatically scopa renewed.

or take a course form Arab open university or any other  accredited course by SOCPA. in your case second option is not possible because of Iqama expiry date

Any Bachelor degree / diploma holders other than B.Com/ or commerce/ or Diploma in accounting
must fulfil the criteria of 15 accounting hours.  I.e. you need to show them that you have studied 15hrs of accounting  subjects in the Bachelor.

So you need to complete the accounting hours as per SOCPA , by studying an accounting course or Join a SOCPA course.

The fees of scopa is very high moreover the language is in arabic.
Is the fees need to pay all in one time.
Meantime can i change profession.

I recently renewed my SOCPA up to Jan 2023. Later after 2 weeks I received message that my membership is cancelled.  Now my iqama renewal is Feb 2022. Can it be renewed since my SOCPA expires 2023 or they go with the status?

Your membership is cancelled.
So, your iqama will not be renewed. If you have an authentic and proper degree then, fix your SCOPA problem.
Otherwise, go on final exit and come back on another visa of some other profession.

My status showing cancelled and invalid. my renewal is valid till November 2022 any my iqama is also valid till November 2022. My certificates are valid and attached the certified copies as required. Why the status showing cancel? I sent many e mails but proper responses are not received.
Can somebody give some suggestions as how this could be resolved before face any issues while renewing the iqama.

It really depends on your certificates.

What I have come across is:

1) The only situation where there are no issues with membership is IF you have a Bachelor's in Accounting (or Commerce from a well known university) or an accounting professional certification (as per the list on their website).  In every other case, one day, while verifying, they will assess your accounting credit hours to be less than the required or some issue with the institution.  In the former, you will be asked to do the hours and in the latter, membership will be cancelled
2) The time taken for verification for associate membership is much faster for international qualifications as those institutes are much more responsive.  For example, a colleague of mine had ACCA and his certificates were verified in 1.5 months.   My CIMA ones were done in 3 weeks (with a bit of wasta).  However, when it is sub-continent certificates especially Bachelor's from universities, it takes 6-8 months

Profession change is not easy especially for blocked categories.  Your sponsor will need to get involved.  I have shared my experience here:

Very strange.  Prior to cancellation, were you an associate member or verification was pending?   if verification keeps pending for more than a year, more often than not, cancellation sometimes happens.

There is a second issue by the way.  If you are a "PROFESSIONAL" member and not an "ASSOCIATE" member, you have to report a certain number of CPE hours a year.  If you don't, then the membership is also cancelled.

From SOCPA site:

Professional Registration is awarded for those whose attachments have been verified and accepted but do not hold an Accounting Bachelor's degree.

Associate Member refers to those whose attachments have been verified and accepted and hold an Accounting Bachelor's degree.

Hi there does anyone know what cima operational level is classified as in terms or the qualification level in saudi.

For socpa membership is it required to have cima completed or any level will suffice?

There you go - that is the reason.  Now it makes sense.  Initially you had asked the question in your other posts but never provided enough details for anyone to tell you why - which you have now provided.

Let me clarify:

1) Your SOCPA membership wasn't associate but rather temporary accounting technician.  When they finished the verification of your submitted CIMA documents i.e. operational level, they cancelled your membership
2) Because you need to be FULLY CIMA qualified.  You are not.  You are part qualified
3) Therefore, you do not meet SOCPA terms and conditions for membership; read the site carefully - "You must hold the relevant professional certificate" (for CIMA that means CGMA or ACMA or FCMA which you CANNOT get without clearing all exams of all parts plus having relevant professional experience)
4) Remember something, you can register for SOCPA and get a temporary accounting technician certificate by attaching literally any document.  You get a certificate that is valid for one year.  SOCPA doesn't stop you but they verify the application in the background.   It is up to you to make sure you are eligible before applying.  Based on what you said, you were never eligible for SOCPA...........you paid 800 SAR and got a year out of it but now what happened is what would have always happened

P.S. When I said I have CIMA, I meant that I am a Fellow Member of CIMA (FCMA) i.e. all exams cleared and senior level experience after ACMA

Assuming your Bachelor's degree qualifies, you can try to re-register with that.   The only other workaround is to either change profession to something else until CIMA completes (not easy to do nowadays) or take a final exit & re-enter on a different profession.

Ok clear did see your post on change of profession but issue is I need socpa to issue a certificate correct? And that's the issue I am having now or can we request to move to a financial analyst role without having involvement of socpa?

As others are posting, it is not a simple request.  Your company needs to get that done i.e. profession change, with or without SOCPA.   Only a few people have managed to change professions.   That is why I said, either change profession (not easy) or take final exit & come back on a new visa.

Ok clear.  Socpa has asked me to visit them but not in ksa now. Will go through maybe we can find some alternative around this . Thank you for the guidance
