What are you missing in Saudi Arabia?

Post new topic

Diksha

Hi everyone,

Living in Saudi Arabia, on the long or short run, it is completely normal to feel homesick sometimes. We would like to know what you are missing the most about your home country in Saudi Arabia.

Do you miss any aspects of your home culture? If so, what are these?

Are you able to reproduce dishes from home and find the necessary ingredients?

What about leisure activities? Have you had to reconsider your favourite activities? If so, which ones have you had to give up?

Are there any celebrations or traditions from your home country that you cannot take part in Saudi Arabia?

How do you cope with that in your daily life?

Thanks for your contribution!

Do you miss any aspects of your home culture? If so, what are these?
Religious occasion, Eid , Mildun Nabi , Moharram , Shab e mayran & Barat, friday gatherings, weekend visits to family, street food is the most important thing, i did not find any street food in Saudia, what they have is equal to mini mobile restaurants in my  country so i dont count them in street food.

Are you able to reproduce dishes from home and find the necessary ingredients?
Yes , all ingredient are available for cooking, but taste of fruits can not be compared with Pakistani fruit;  Banana, Apples, Mangoes , oranges etc etc.

What about leisure activities? Have you had to reconsider your favourite activities? If so, which ones have you had to give up?
thats was really funny question, in Saudi Arabia there are no activities like we really need or had in our countries, here malls , parks , home office and nothing, travelling is good here and easy to travel but now a days due to covid where local traveling is open with hotels and all other facilities we are still facing some restrictions here...

Are there any celebrations or traditions from your home country that you cannot take part in Saudi Arabia?
Eids, the feeling of EID in pakistan is seprate no matter how many friends or family you have here, even Ramdan in Madina or MEcca is good but in other city its not better then Pakistan,

How do you cope with that in your daily life?
Sunday to thursday
Wake up , Shower , Breakfast , Go to office , come back from office , dinner, Watch TV , You tube , play xbox,  sleep and same again next day

Friday And Staurday
Sleep eat Sleep Eat sleep eat ......

Yes, I miss going to church. In other countries you have churches, mosqs, sinogogues o temples. Notthe case in Saudi Arabia...

Don't talk about that here or anywhere on the net while living in KSA.
It can get you in a trouble.

hi, I was in Saudi Arabia for a while before. But now I live in Turkey. Maybe I can be in Saudi Arabia as an officer during the Hajj period. Thanks.
