I think we shouldn’t post any direct link of a third party publication here. You may highlight the key points out of this article and mention local newspapers have published a detailed article about it. Thanks

Why so? I would be worried if my source of information isn’t verified or the platform is subjected to speculations. The whole purpose of this forum is to share facts and figures and what better than the national newspaper itself?

Sure I won’t share my publications which aren’t vetted, for those are my personal opinions and statements.

Happy to discuss more.

There have been cases in the past where a website got into trouble for posting a link to a (government-owned) media site. But these were political topics, which are best to leave untouched in Singapore anyway.
I think copy&paste of an article is a breach of copyrights and therefore even less desirable. So in my opinion it's o.k. to post links.

I said so because previously I had received PM from our admin (multiple times in past) to remove any direct link from non-govt websites. I did share from Yahoo Singapore on some news articles (definitely not related to any political affiliation). If you have not received then you can go ahead.

Agreed copy and paste will be fringe of copy rights violations. I did say we can mention few key points from this article. Why someone will speculate? If anyone wants to know the info is true or fake then he or she can google it. This news was in every print media here.

The reason behind me posting a link from a legit source, that is the national newspaper is to inform a lot of the forum members who aren’t currently in Singapore, anxiously waiting for employment/ s pass approvals to get here.

To your point, Surya- yes it is on most prominent media channels but often people outside Singapore don’t keep a tab on such posts. Let me give you an excellent example, when you browse through news on your phone/ tab, it picks up your country and curates the top trending articles. Unless you sit and dig what’s up in Singapore, none of this comes up.

Look, I don’t share Political content, nor my personal articles, felt it was a great read that cites facts and from a reliable source so went ahead.

If Admin tells me, it doesn’t belong here, or even I don’t, I’d leave you guys to it :)
