Post new topic

I need to get a 24 hour PCR test that will allow for entry back into the USA.

Please advise if anyone has or knows a good location I am in Cerritos area.

Thanks in advance

Try contacting the clinics and laboratories mentioned in this article:

Most of them promise only 48 to 72 hours turnaround, though.

I just got back to the usa on November 22. The airport in Medellín has a test center right outside that took about 40 minutes to get the results once you took the test. Once you get the results sent your email then you just show the airlines in Medellín. They quickly look at it while you are in line to check in and that’s the last time you need to show it. They don’t look at it in the USA.

I think most of the PCR tests have to go through Bogota for processing.  You might check with the University Technologica de Pereira to see if they have the equipment to process, I know of no one else in that area that would have that capability.

The rapid pcr test can be done in 30 minutes and the rapid antigen test can be done in 15 minutes.

US will accept rapid test as well as PCR.  PCR is being taken off market for US as of Dec 31 anyway.

You don't need a PCR test. You can get the rapid antigen test at any IDIME. Compared to the US, the price is great. Only $50,000 COP!

In Pereira, go to Correa Lopez Labs...they can do the Antigen and get same day results, if before 2pm.....

An antigen an PCR test are different.

Ok...Antigen is different from PCR.  Correa Lopez labs can do both.  PCR results within 24 hrs.

Antigen is acceptable to enter US, is quicker and less expensive.

You need an Antigen test not PCR.  I came back from Colombia on Jan 2nd.  PCR takes 2 or 3 days and you are required to be tested 24 hrs before so the Antigen test is the way to go.  We were tested at the facility outside the airport in Rio Negro.  Cost was 95,000 COP, per person and results were ready about 45 minutes after the test.  Make sure you have a passport when you go for a test.
