HI  I am early retired from state superior court as a judge in america. Been doing this about 30 years. I bought a two story home on the 11th and 12th floor in egypt. It took me 8 months to renovate it and came back to america in December. After Ramadan I am flying back to egypt.  I feel very alone in egypt and hope to find nice friends to meet.  I hope you all are having a wonderful day.  It's 11 00 am here. Mary

@mh202037 Hey Mary, how are you doing ? I’m happy I read your post. You know what :)) around a month ago I presume, I started a post asking sort of the same thing, to meet new people and communicate, network and have fun really.

First off I’d like to welcome you to Egypt, and I hope you’re back safe and sound from the states and the flight was comfy :))

Secondly, your idea/ proposal about meeting up is very good, and I’m up for it :)).

I’m Ahmed, I work as an ESL teacher in a school, I live in Maadi.

If i may, I’d like to suggest that anyone reading the post and interested in Mary’s suggestion to connect  and meet up to have some fun , how about we all meet like in Maadi, the scenery is fabulous and mostly green, lots of areas to have very beautiful walks or to do any activity that we all agree on.

In anyways, I’m down and lets suggest some ideas and we agree on one.

Thank you for your Post Mary :)) and I truly hope you’d never feel bored again and this time around you’d really have an amazing experience :)).

All the best and awaiting your reply :))

P.S: You're not alone Mary, you have friends now and I hope you’ll always encounter nice & friendly people, and this friend is called Ahmed and lives in Cairo, Maadi :)) honored to know you, Mary :))

@Retire Abroad Hi Mary, same here - planning to move soon to Alexandria. Do you need to get some sort of long-term visa in advance,
or you can just arrive as a tourist and then go from there? Also, is it a good idea to stay in touch with the American Consulate? Thanks.
Karini Maximoss

@mh202037 hi Mary! My name is Karini. I am a Dominican Republic born, American citizen, married to an Egyptian born and raised, American citizen. We have been to Egypt four times since married. We have been Hera now since June 10 and will be going back to the US on July 10. Where in Egypt are you located? We are in Alexandria about 26 -30 min from the city.

@mh202037  Hi Mary, How are you doing in Hurghada? Let's meet up soon. I am an ex-pat too and love to meet other ex-pats. You can arrange a place and time to meet me. A

AngelDragons

@Julien Hi Julian, I am Angel and I live as a European in Hurghada. I bought a property 6 years ago and developed connections with developers and owners of all kinds of properties. I help to rent and find properties to purchase. I would love to build up groups who meet up and build an ex-pat meet-up group. The location is Boutique Bar and dates can be arranged individually. I am an ex-teacher and now a life coach. I work mainly online in the travel VIP sector for all related services in the travel and real estate niche. I love diving and working on Lifeboats. I would love to do some extra work on lifeboats or VIP private yachts. I offer Life Coaching and relationship online workshops for ex-pats who experienced trauma during their life or stay abroad. I studied special needs and can help others to create new opportunities. Narzisim or BPD is quite an issue in many relationships. Hurghada is a safe place if you know the common action and areas around the town. Regards A1f600.svg

Hello omega obiang,

Thank you for your introduction!

You are at the right place to make new connections!1f60e.svg

I agree that before relocating, maybe you should visit Egypt first to see if the lifestyle, climate, living conditions etc suit you.

You can start by reading the Living in Egypt guide for expats. You will find a lot of useful information there.

In case you have any questions, feel free to create a new discussion on the Egypt forum.

@Julien hi why is it that since I joined yesterday I’ve been contacted by three men one asking for my personal details? Is there no filtering of messages or way for me to prevent this? I didn’t join for meet ups tbh just to get info and advice on others experiences and share my own.

Bhavna

Hello Miranda,

Sorry about that.
