I am looking to move from England to Scotland, i town close to Edinburg. I am thinking of Kirkcaldy. I have never been to Scotland before this time. Please can someone let me know what Kirkcaldy is like and if it’s a good town to live in. Can I easily commute to Edinburg? Thank you.

I would say the best way is to take a drive up there and look.

They're both on the eastern side of Scotland; Kirkcaldy is a coastal town, but it's the opposite side of the Firth of Forth water way to Edinburgh, so makes the commute more complicated; over an hour by public transport, 45 minutes if you drive, but the peak time is very busy, so almost certainly take longer then.  Also, it the bridge goes out (happens sometimes), the commute is a nightmare.  My advice would be to look south of the river.
