@Milly_12_12 Hi ,me im still waiting. Applied last October 2022.

gplaytime

@Erica Ray just Calm down they will answer you eventually, I took me 181/2 months for them to answer me and it’s now summer everything is going slow!

your positive is coming soon😌

Cansu Sømhovd

Since 2022 october

Cansu Sømhovd

2022's oldest cases are starting by Agust 2022 i think.  Who apllied Before agust 2022 they already had their answers as i understand. And udi announced they will start processing the  oldest cases of 2022,  by 1 th of agust/next week.   I think we will get our answers in a few months... maybe less.

Milly_12_12

I have seen in UDI yearly report that they have 330 cases pending from 2022, and they work with like 1000 cases a month. So it should not actually take more than one month for them to clear 2022 cases.

And I think they are talking about the oldest also the most old case from 2022, it can be from january 2022 also I guess.

Where did u read that they are completing cases for before aug 2022? I thought they were working with cases before 1st jan 2022, also 2021 cases.

Erica Ray

@Cansu Sømhovd possible, let’s just hope they don’t move the date again.

Cansu Sømhovd

@Milly_12_12

Actually they said that: in udi waiting time page; they will start 2022's oldest cases by 1th agust. Its my guess; oldest cases starting by 2022 something july or agust. I read all forum all comments - seriously all !  (here expat.no) only we are asking about the case who applied on agust, september, october. So nobody complaining about the earlier months. Only these 3 months case ovners asking about waiting time. So it was my silly guess actually 😊

But anyway if there are really only 330 pending case from 2022  means we gonna get our responds even till 15th of agust. Yayyyy 🥳🥳🥳

Cansu Sømhovd

Hei all people who has been waiting since 2022, has the countdown gone? If anybody got answer yet ?

Milly_12_12

Still waiting😵‍💫

we all know UDI is slow and all they can do is delay things

I wonder if they will update time on their wepage in mid of august

Cansu Sømhovd

When since ?

Milly_12_12

Udi can’t be serious. I read a newpaper saying that udi is done with all 2022 cases. They had 750 cases pending from 2021 and so on, and they finished it in june and may.

so what the hell did they do in july,????? And I did still not got any answer.

They didn’t even update waiting time.

what is wrong with them and they don’t pick up the phone

i am so scared and

Cansu Sømhovd

@Milly_12_12

Hei,

I am in the same situation and I know how it is so difficult. BUT: I believe something is wrong with all information. you should follow only UDİ page. otherwise, if they had so fewer cases from 2022 or 2021 they wouldn't announce that the waiting time is long, and they would give some detailed info about waiting time. they know so many people desperately follow the news on the UDI page. I really believe that there is something wrong with the info you got. and here in Norway, even though August is a dead month, somehow the holiday season goes on...

They don't answer the phones because their source is short during this holiday time. calling them or e-mailing them won't change anything. we have been waiting so long, and we will get the news soon.

and please don't be scared... this is just the system not about us.

Milly_12_12

@Cansu Sømhovd yes u are right 🙁🙁

actually it was director of Udi who said they finished all the tasks

I am going to complain to sivilombudet, and I think everybody should complain

Cansu Sømhovd

@Milly_12_12

well, my husband saw the same article, he is Norwegian and he thinks it's a kind of "politick - brocratic" article...

but generally these waiting times it is so waste... and especially couples are affected in bad ways... I believe that family immigration is a very basic human right and  waiting time should be shorter, and it is also surprising to me why nobody took any action about that.

anyway, has been more than 10 months now... a few more months not gonna change anything for me. because if I continue to worry, I can lose my mind. and I stopped to worry.

Erica Ray

@gplaytime

it’s not easy to be calm you know this marks 12 months still haven’t heard anything, 4 months ago they opened our application. I have not heard anything after that.

Still, thanks for your positive response!

Milly_12_12

@Erica Ray when did u apply? And how do u know they opened ur case,

Reyna208

Hi any updates on your application? I hope someone here got an approval already.

Cansu Sømhovd

@Reyna208 not yet. What about you ?

sandeep kumar62

Any new updates about waiting time for work permit????

Reyna208

@Cansu Sømhovd not yet too, UDI said they are currently processing the application on or before July 31,2022 . And they will change the waiting time again next month September 21.

Cansu Sømhovd

@Reyna208 yeah, end of september is our turn i think.

island_mestiza

Thank you for your positivity Cansu. We all need to get any form of positivity. My fiance and I have been waiting for 9 months now and we have been apart for 9 months. Its tough to be waiting and not knowing when to get answers. I hope UDI is reading and hearing our concerns and genuinely looking for ways to expedite their process.

ellenamisa

I'm waiting for 11 months now - Applied October 3, 2022 - hopefully we get good answer soon - or atleast an update :) everyone is on a limbo now with no clear timeline

Cansu Sømhovd

@ellenamisa october 6th 2022 sister 😊 lets update eachother when we get result 😊

ellenamisa

@Cansu Sømhovd yes for sure sis! you applied in Norway right? I applied in PH

Cansu Sømhovd

@ellenamisa yes i applied in Norway. Good luck for all of us !

ChrisDl

Anyone had a result in recently? How long did you wait in total?

Been waiting 9 months now. It was only going to be 4 when I arrived to marry my Norsk partner.

Even in Brexit Britain things moved faster ;)

Reyna208

Hi, any update on your applications? I have been waiting for a year now. Some friends i knew got their approval already.They just applied this year.

Erica Ray

@Reyna208 it’s so sad dear, you are not alone. Been wait for over a year now,  it’s overwhelming.

Reyna208

I wanted to call them the UDI but on the other side it might not help my case instead will make more time of waiting for me.

ChrisDl

@Reyna208 how did your friends get replies if they applied in 2023? UDI is working on cases with applications up to the end of July 2022?

Cansu Sømhovd

This week has been one year for me....

Cansu Sømhovd

My opinion  Some point something happened and rest of cases just went out of control, it seems so. But also these things happening all over europien countries because of the russian war and refrugees... people are so desperate about waiting times for the other countries too. Working permits work faster also this is another fact.

ellenamisa

@ChrisDl if the reference person is EU national or holds skilled worker permit, they have a different timeline which is 4 months and must have an answer max 6 months - so most who you heard that got an answer this is the case - if you play on the waiting time in udi site it will say so - Norwegian reference person has different timeline which most of us has - unless you have a valid reason for your case to be moved in front of the queue - been waiting over a year now too

ChrisDl

@ellenamisa thank you for your reply. I don´t know about you but I´m torn as to whether I return to the UK to continue the wait. At least I could work there. Crazy how wrong predicated wait times were way back when. They must have had some knowledge of the massive increases coming in the pipeline but did not issue warnings.

ellenamisa

@ChrisDl I applied overseas last year, because at that time, I still have an active multiple visit visa for 1 year (I'm from Philippines BTW) and I did that because prior to it, I was in Norway for 3 months, and I realized I can't deal just being there not being able to do anything like I don't exist because I don't have a D number - I was trying to get a membership on a gym that time - I am glad that I did went back to my home country and continued working - BUT now, my dilema is I can't just visit my partner since my visa expired - they said its 50/50 approval if I apply for a VV while FRV on process but I will try next week as I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel on this crazy wait time with no clear expectation on the wait time

Cansu Sømhovd

@ChrisDl i am stucked here. Has been one year now i appliead. When applied waiting time was only 4 months. I said ofc i can wait here with my husband after all is just 4 months without travelling. I am nobody here without D number. It was the worst desicion i made to apply in norway and wait here.  Ofc nobody know how is it  possible that 4 moths goes up to more than a year... this is crazy. The worst thing is i cant work here and it makes me so sad. I am agree; how they didnt warn about it. At least they could do that ;  waiting time is no clear anymore then you can go back and keep waiting in your country.  Sometimes feeling  its kinda punishment 😢😢😢

ChrisDl

@ellenamisa I wish you goodluck. You made the right decision I think. Waiting here continues to be very difficult. Of course I am happy to be with my partner but with her working full time to support us and me unable to do anything, as you say, not really exisiting... not good.
