@Cansu Sømhovd it sounds like our situations are very much the same. Do you mind me asking where abouts you are in Norway? I am in Narvik.

Cansu Sømhovd

@ChrisDl i am in Sømna. It makes everything difficult because we live in country side.  No social life, no friends... i always thought if we would live in a big city at leats i could have some social life, i am lucky that i love nature m life. But it became a huge isolation.

Reyna208

@ChrisDl hi,my friend reference person is a Swedish citizen. But when i tried to search the waiting time it is the same with the Norwegian reference person because it is part of the Nordic country.But maybe she have special case.

Cansu Sømhovd

@Reyna208 same happened in Oslo someone i know. Her husband not norsk, he has rp here and he is from eu country but  she is from  non eu. It took only 2 months to get it their rp. As they had already family immigration visa in his origin country.

Reyna208

Hi,the UDI updated there waiting time now.Until 8 January 2024 they will be processing  applications submitted on or before December 2022.I hope everyone waiting here we will get our permit soon.🙏🏼❤️

ellenamisa

Cansu Sømhovd

Dear All,

I have recently received a job offer from a company in Norway, and my employer has submitted the work permit application on my behalf, including applications for my family members. Our intended starting date is during the first week of January.

I have visited the UDI (Norwegian Directorate of Immigration) website and noted that the estimated processing time for work visas is up to 4 months. While I understand that this is an average timeframe, I that possible to get work visa before 4 months?

Thank you!

Aryan Khan78

@Gokulkannan so how can i apply i there because i also need a job

Gokulkannan

@Aryan Khan78, Nice to Connect you. You can find the suitable jobs from LinkedIn. For my case, I am Currently living in Japan for last 4 Years. Based on my experience I got an Job offer from Employer in Norway. Good Luck :)

ChrisDl

@Gokulkannan it may be possible to get an ´early start´ grant from the local police if your work is considered skilled and you are using your highest qualifications.

Gokulkannan

@ChrisDl Thank you :)

Gokulkannan

@ChrisDl, FYI i got an visa approval today including my family members total duriation is 4 weeks :)

@Gokulkannan

May I ask you where can I find job offer which site in Norway should I have to search and apply. Thank you for your time to answer me.

Gokulkannan

@bernapajarit23 I wanted to share some exciting news with you! LinkedIn has proven to be one of the best platforms for securing job opportunities in Norway. Drawing on my extensive 13+ years of experience in IT Networking, including my recent 5-year tenure in DC IT in Japan, I have successfully received a job offer that includes complete relocation assistance. I wanted to highlight this as an example of the potential LinkedIn holds for your own job search. If you have any questions or need further information, please let me know.

Kind Regards

Gokul

Gokulkannan

@Luna F Thank you!

@Gokulkannan, I also think that linkedin is a great platform for job hunting.. I prefer it over other normal job sites, I find linkedin more personal and you can actually talk to real people/recruiter (sometimes in real time)..

Actually, my current Job Offer also resulted from those interactions in linkedin.. My wife, who is also in the same profession as me (chemical engineer) but is currently taking a rest, was contacted by a recruiter.. She then referred me instead and the rest is history, I got the job and just waiting for the visa to be approved ;)

bernapajarit23

@Gokulkannan thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I have been searching a job at linkedin but haven't  find a job yet hat matches with my preference. I hope one day I could find one. Thank you and wish you all the best.

Regards😊

@Gokulkannan

Thank you so much for your time and sharing your  experience for job hunting in LinkedIn. Currently, I am working here in Norway since 2022 but It seems  I cannot grow my career due to some conflict at work. I am hopeful I could find good job opportunities.

ChrisDl

420 days later and I have finally been granted a residence permit  :D

Luna F

@ChrisDl congrats 🎉 happy for you

Luna F

@ChrisDl one question pls you got your answer by mail or post?

We are waiting since 14th of nov 2022, the last police interview was in march 2023 they sent back the case to UDI at the end of march, at that time the police said the waiting time is 6 months after the interview still no answer... I'm a european citizen, my husband from pakistan, but have worked in romania, we married there and he has a residence permit, but I moved here for job and he followed me, he has also jobs ( 2) but it takes really long... One more time congrats 🎉🎉🎉

ChrisDl

Thank you so much. The answer came in an email this morning. A letter is coming in the mail in 1 week with more information. My biggest recommendation to you would be to call them with your DUF number ready. I waited 1 year before calling because they say over and over DO NOT CALL. But I did in the end and they were helpful. The lady from the UDI told me my application will be answered in 1 week and it was done. If you have had an interview then you should have got an answer by now. Call them in the morning at 10am and wait a few minutes. Then if there is a long queue you can press a button (it will say) and they will call you back when you are at the front of the queue. I wish you the best of luck, you must be very close to the answer now. Best wishes and thanks x

Luna F

@ChrisDl thanks a lot for you answer and wishes, very good and explicit answer, wish you all the best!

Luna F

@ChrisDl thank you so much for your advices, my husband called UDI he also sent  an email, that's how we found out it was the wrong department, so next day he called the good number, he was the 3d in the queue, they called him back and a very nice lady explained him that we are a priority case now because we have almost 18 months since he applied so soon we will get an answer, wish you all the best
