Hii everyone,

Just want to ask maybe some of you have this experience like mine. Today my non EU spouse rejected to fly to Romania from UK airport. We are supposed to fly together from UK to My hometown in Constansa Romania. They cabin crew rejected her to board only because she has no schengen visa or EU Resident Card. She holds the pre settlement visa of the UK. As far as I read in the Gov UK, family member of EU citizens are allowed to travel together with no visa. We brought our Marriage certificate as a prove of family relationship but they don't except it. What should we do beside applying schengen visa, cause it takes so long to apply it and a  it complicated.  Please share if you have similar case. Thank you

It would help a little if you tell us what her nationality is.  Also, Romania is not part of Schengen.  In any case, the refusal at the airport was correct, and airlines cannot accept a marriage certificate in place of a visa or residence permit if required.  They would be fined if they accept her and she is returned by immigration in Romania.

This is a worrying report, and a worrying response from Romaniac.  Ryanair links to pages of the British and Romanian governments that imply travel restrictions are over, and that I could therefore accompany my wife to Romania on her next visit to her family in Romania without a visa.  (I am British.)  This report and Romaniac's comment on it suggests otherwise.

Who is causing the problem for the UK resident whose citizenship is elsewhere? The UK?  Or Romania? The airline? Or the airport authority?  Would whoever is causing the problem still cause the problem if the UK resident denied boarding had held a British passport rather than a foreign one?

What is the purpose of causing the problem?  What evil are the travel bans designed to prevent?

If it's Romania causing the problem, does Romania no longer consider itself a tourist destination that welcomes visitors, or a place where UK residents married to Romanians can visit with their spouses on the spouses' trips home?

Is it continuing covid alarmism or a desire to punish the UK for Brexit that is creating the bureaucratic opposition to Romanians merely taking their UK resident spouses with them on trips home to Romania, or some other factor?

What's worrying is your lack of understanding of the OP's post, and also my response.  This is not a COVID issue, or travel ban, nor is it a UK vs Romania issue.  EU member states decide which countries' nationals require visas to enter their territories.  There are no "evil" nor "punishments" involved, and it's bordering on nonsensical to suggest otherwise.
