I’m interested in doing this sort of the opposite way. Would leave Kampot since I will be living in Cambodia. Enter at Ha Tien. Is there a bus service from ha Tien to can tho that someone can suggest? I would most likely leave to go back to Cambodia from Saigon after 30 days.Thanks!- @mpmilestogo

@Aidan in HCMC thanks! Great way for me to get to Can Tho. I’ll be able to surprise my friend there. Hopefully she will be happy. Hahahaha.

Hello Rosie Myers, and welcome to expat.com!
It wasn't me who did the border run, rather, it was a friend of mine visiting from Canada.
When he arrived from Phu Quoc over to Ha Tien, there was a gaggle of Xi Om bike riders there at the Ha Tien dock. He negotiated the price for return to VN-Cambodia border with one of them, and off they went.
And the rest is as stated in my original post.
Should you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Lots of friendly folk here willing to help.
Again, welcome to expat.com!
edit: Rosie, I noticed you are subscribed to the Phu Quoc forum. There is additional information related to living in VN, found here.
@Rosie Myers Hello
Did you do a border run from Phu Quoc to Cambodia? Have to do in two weeks, just wanted feedback? TIA Darryl

Hello johnlock91, and welcome to expat.com!
A friend, visiting from Canada, just did a border run Phu Quoc - Hatien VN - Cambodia border again last month.
Seemless passage out of VN, into Cambodia, and back in to VN. It was essentially a repeat of his experience in post #1 of this thread, here (link).
Please let us know how your border run goes.
God speed on your run, and when you have time please let us know how you fared. We would certainly appreciate it, and your feedback/tips/observations will help others.
Should you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Many helpful folk here at expat.com.

Seemless passage out of VN...
and seamless
@johnlock91
In my response to you regarding your border run from Phu Quoc, I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that you are in VN on a 30 day eVisa. If so, the border run report stands.
If, however, you are in Phu Quoc on a "visa free/visa exemption", your option differs.
For a recent discussion regarding Phu Quoc's Visa Free/Exemption, please see here. (link)

Do you happen to know how to fill in the application if I am already in Phu Quoc? Because it asks me if I ever visited Vietnam in the last year, and I currently am in Phu Quoc, what should I say there?
Thank you!
Hi, is the Ha Tien visa run still viable? I need to do it in a week. Thanks!
Hi there adrianmarchidan. Welcome to the Vietnam forum.
Sorry for the late reply.
I'm not quite sure what you are asking with regard to the Ha Tien border run. Foreigners are still using the Vietnam/Cambodia border as a crossing (and returning) point. Had you heard anything to the contrary? There have been no reports received from our members indicating any change in the steps outlined in post #1 of this thread.

Yeah, that can be a little confusing.
On the application, you answer "Yes" to whether you have visited VN in the last year. List the date(s) of your visit(s). On the new eVisa application for your new eVisa, input your most recent arrival date as the "From" date, and the date on which you submit the new application as the "To" date.
This is a very important point. That "To" date must be the same as the date you submit your new application!
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any further questions should you need any clarification.
Once again, welcome to the forum. Hope to hear more from you soon.
@Aidan in HCMC
Hi, thank you for your reply, I tried taking the steps you mentioned, but when I imput the "To" date as the date from today when I want to submit the application I get a message in red saying " Issue date should not before today " and it not let's me go forward. Do you know anything about this?
EDIT - The page was not refreshed so it was remebering another date, all worked well, now waiting for the visa to get approved.
Thank you for your help!
@adrianmarchidan
Good stuff! Happy it helped.
Do let us know how your application proceeds (whether "approved", or, "denied-awaiting amendment"). As I'm sure you're aware, there have been a number of reports of applicants being denied issuance of a new eVisa due to their application being submitted while they were still in VN.
Fingers crossed for you. If submitted today, you should expect a response
from immigration by ~Apr3rd.
