I wouldn't expect anything now until the July / August timeframe. As my mother used to tell me:
"A watched pot never boils."
Also, this is known in physics as the "Quantum Zeno Effect" or the "Turing Paradox". Who knew? ;-)
Well, looks like documents are moving. Remember, I've been waiting since the first week of December, 2023, so they're going through the backlog. I'll post another message when it arrives at the PF and is ready to be picked up.
"Your document has been produced and is in transit. Wait for receipt information for collection at the DELEMIG service unit"
I applied Dec 19 in RJ and both my partner and I got this update
Has anyone who had their PF interview in January seen their status change in Sismigra? I had my PF interview in RJ in mid-January and my status in Sismigra is still showing as below. It does not look like my CRNM has been ordered yet.
O requerimento está sendo processado The application is being processed.
Hello,
I've checked my status now and it seems changed.
"O requerimento encontra-se arquivado."
I've visitied PF in the end of January so I think after you.
Hello,
As I said my current status is the below.
"O requerimento encontra-se arquivado."
Next step is "Seu documento foi produzido e está em trânsito. Aguarde a informação de recebimento para retirada na unidade de atendimento"?
If someone knows the stages, please let me know.
@koirj For me it was like this:
- "Seu documento foi encaminhado para impressão."
- "Seu documento foi produzido e está em trânsito. Aguarde a informação de recebimento para retirada na unidade de atendimento DELEMIG/DREX/SR/PF/SP."
- "Seu documento foi confeccionado e está pronto para ser retirado na unidade de atendimento ... ..."
Anyone else have an idea what "Arquivado" could relate to?
@koirj maybe you should contact them for more information meanwhile.
So I applied for my renewal... I'm 51 and since I'll already be 60 years old by my next renewal, they've given it to me indeterminando this time around. For what it's worth, I've been a resident of brazil since I was nine years... All other times it was for nine years.
Anyways, I completed the renewal process on March 23rd. A few days ago, I tracked the system as it said "o seu processo esta em andamento" which is what i expected. I just tracked it again and now it says "seu processo esta arquivado". But the curious thing is that is dated May 16th and today is only May 7th! Not sure what to make out of this.
Hi welcome @yosmarmartinez , with @koirj at least you guys are not alone with this "Arquivado" message then! Maybe there is an error or an internal thing on their side, maybe related to all these delays.
I would just contact the Policia Federal soon to sort out any misunderstandings.
@rocade what I'm finding odd is that they have this post dated to the 16th and today is only the 7th.
@yosmarmartinez
This is totally the same situation as mine.
The date is 16th of May....
It's so weird and should be error.
@koirj good to know. I found a phone number for the PF and will call tomorrow to see if I can more info.
I called just now but it's an automated message that hangus up after they give you their hours of service. I will wait a bit longer to see if something changes online. Otherwise, I will go in person and check it out.
@ymartinez
Thank you for reporting it!
I already sent an email to them too.
If I know something, I will report here as well.
@ymartinez
I've found the contact info here, https://www.gov.br/pf/pt-br/acesso-a-in … delegacias
I sent email to them a few times but normally, they don't reply..
I got a reply from PF.
So it seems a good sign and the process is ongoing.
@mikehunter If you are flying on a passport that requires a visa to enter Brazil, I don't recommend going out of the country with an expired protocolo. It won't be an issue leaving Brazil but it certainly will be an issue on your return... the airlines can deny you boarding on the return because you don't have a valid permission to enter the country. right now, US citizens don't need a visa but when it was a requirement, I went through a previous renewal the airlines was always checking the validity of the protocolo. THe PF told me if my CRNM is not ready in 90 days for me to return and get a new protocolo.
@mikehunter I'm 51, almost 52. Just renewed my CRNM and this time around they gave it to me indeterminado as I will be past 60 at my next renewal date. Not sure what type of residency you have but I have a permanent one.
@jonesio based on my experience, it's if you will already been 60 at the time of your next renewal. I'm 51, almost 52 and they gave it to me as indeterminado this time around. I've been a permanent resident for more than 40 years now.
@mikehunter its my udnerstanding that indeterminado is only given if at your subsequent renewal you will be 60. Otherwise if you are a permanent resident you have to renew every 9 years... and not leave the country for more than two years at a time.
@koirj I had emailed as well... And this is the response I got:
"Informamos que seu processo encontra-se como ARQUIVADO.
Informamos que a Polícia Federal e Brasília/DF já estão cientes deste equívoco, e Brasília juntamente com a DRM já estão tomando as devidas providências.
Qualquer novidade será atualizada no sistema de consulta."
So slightly different than yours. Hopefully they will clear this up in the system soon.
@ymartinez
Yeah it seems different.
But I think we cannot do anything now so let's see how it will be.
I will report here again once something changes.
Hello,
FYI, my current situation is "The application was granted" and the data also changed to the date when I applyed.
@koirj thanks for the update. I checked my as well and its been changed to granted as well with the date of my PF visit. Now we just need to be patient
Just checked my status now... In the last 24 hours, it went from "o seu processo esta arquivado" to "deferido" to "esta sendo processado". My PF appointment was March 25th. Will report back whenever someting changes.
Yes, it will be interesting to know approximately how much time each step takes. The
stage seems to take quite a while. I received this notice on May 1st and so far, no further updates.
@mikehunter Mine and my partner's got a notice about our cards were processed and were in transit at the beginning of the month. We just got updated with 'ready for pickup' this week so at least for the last step, its about 2 weeks (for RJ).
Thanks, my status changed today to:
Seu documento foi confeccionado e está pronto para ser retirado na unidade de atendimento DELEMIG/DREX/SR/PF/SP. Preencha o formulário abaixo e faça o agendamento para a retirada do documento na unidade de atendimento correta. Algumas unidades dispensam o agendamento (nestes casos o sistema irá informar que "não há agenda para o serviço escolhido").
Interesting enough, they did not send an email. So some people (me included) have to manually check. I'm going to have my POA pick up for me since I'm now in the USA. I'll let everyone know how that goes.
I paid a visit tothe PF in Goiania today. My original protocolo had an early June expiration date. That date has changed, luckily, to”indeterminado”. My concern is not receiving my permanent card by sometime in July. Reason being that my driving privileges of 180 days with my California license expires August 3rd. Detran will not allow a license application without a protocolo.
So, here is what I found out. A new provider has been sourced and is currently printing cards. There are two ”batches” of cards to be released yet this month (May), supposedly reducing almost the entire backlog. Additionally, they stated if i didnt receive my card that they would give me a directive to provide Detran to accept my protocolo.
That’s all I know for now.
Excuse me, Detran will not allow a license application without the actual RNM card I misspke in my earlier post
@kevinmiller1957
Kevin, I think you may have been right the first time, if memory serves.
The law says you can only drive with a foreign license for up to 6 months, (the maximum period for a tourist visa), after which you have to have a Brazilian one.
I think, 17 years ago, that we got Brazilian driving licenses with our protocolos, because my wife's visa card was delayed by nearly a year, so she could not have used it for the driving license application. It took much longer, in those days, to receive a card than today!
These days, I can not check the status of the CRNM.
If I fill out the data, there will be error and I can not see the result.
Anybody has the same problem?
I have no idea if there's a problem in general right now, but I remember me and other people having problems on that page before and it was about the browser settings @koirj
You can try to change the language of the page from the menu - I remember this was the solution for once. If not, maybe disable adblockers, etc.
@rocade Yeah, the language has to be Portuguese, and sometimes when you change it, that receives an error. You have to keep trying until it accepts the language change.
