Where are you living now, and have you been there for a while?
My first visit to Bamako, Mali was in September 2005 for three months then I was in Indonesia for a year. In 2007 I came back to Bamako, Mali until January 2009. During my stay in Mali I have the opportunity to travel to many parts of West Africa ranging from a few days to months. I do not plan to stay long as I travel due to my nature and service of works.
Have you ever lived abroad before?
No, I have never lived abroad before but somehow have visited many countries in Asia and Australia.
When did you decided to go and live abroad?
By chance since I join this organisation and nature of my works is to travel a lot.
Why did you choose to live in Mali?
Not really I like or choose Mali but my works brought me here. BTW this is the opportunity for me to visit Tombouctou.
How would you describe Bamako?
I reside in Bamako, capital city of Mali. A good place, good neighbourhood, with good basic amenities but do not expect it's good as you have in Europe. A safe place and even to walk alone after midnight. Malians are friendly a lot and African in general.
When did you start blogging?
Blogging have been in my mind since early 2007, but due to my works commitment only in February 2008 I started blogging. However, only one month later I seriourly blogging. My primary purpose to blog is to share my travel with family and friends. Many of my friends always try to look out for me but with my blogs, they will know what and where I am.
Did you make new friends with your blog?
Yeah. Happy to know and meet someone who share the interest and topic
When did you register on https://www.expat.com?
One day I stumbled across the ‘expat-blog ‘ in the browser. I found it good place to for on-line https://www.expat.community to share experience, knowledge, view point, similarity or differences etc. I registered with expat-blog in February 2009
Any ‘memories of an expat' you would like to share with other bloggers?
Harassed by custom and immigration officers something that I really try to avoid, actually they did that on pretext to get some money from me. Learning foreign language or dialect is interesting a lot and hilarious.
