I moved to Paris aged 18 and eight years later to Beirut, becoming self-employed by the same token. Moving from a nanny state to a DIY nation provides many reasons to laugh and to wonder, which prompted me to create Ginger Beirut, a collection of short pieces on Lebanese life and culture as seen by an outsider. Now living in Spain, I continue to write about society, language acquisition and literacy.
I joined expat.com on 08 February 2010.
