Hi everyone ill be coming to KSA soon after getting my work visa for a private company,

I wanted to ask if the work visa medical test is for drug testing or disease detection like HPV,STD,TB etc.

My health is good but i am a cannabis user in my home country.

We get a lot of questions like these.

The medical is for infectious diseases not drugs.  However, your employer may have an extra panel of tests on their own.

So my advice is to go off drugs at least a month before arrival.  That is something good to be used to as while you are here, punishments for things like cannabis can range from jail term to death penalty..........depending on quantity being carried.

@XTang all i know is that for iqama the medical test is for health reasons like diseases and insurance and my employer doesn't do drug tests, plus i only wanted to know about only the visa medical exam, cuz if i am not wrong uralysis is for kidney infection, LFT is for liver defects and blood is for sugar, hiv etc. But no where mentioned if they'll test these things for drugs from the embassy that is what i want to know.

Ofcourse i am aware of KSA and other countries not keen on substances and i respect that not a chronic user though.

Basically, the visa medical results need to be clear.

They screen the urine, not just for specific items.  An analysis can discover UTIs, kidney disease and / or diabetes.  Now theoretically, neither of these are deport-able illnesses, you don't really want to waste time in follow up tests and delay the process.

Practically speaking, there is no issue unless your blood indicates HIV, Hep B, Hep C etc......or X-ray has lung scars.

@XTang So basically the visa medical test is just for my health conditions and a precautionary measure that i am not carrying any dangerous diseases that will harm me and others around me

XTang

Yes.   The issue is practically only with infectious diseases.  However, it is good to have a clear medical as depending on the center/doctors, if it is not clear, they can make you run around and waste time otherwise.

@XTang what do you mean by clear

XTang

Clear means no doubt on anything.
