All your post are very interessting for me. In fact i ll come in dumaguete monday for a while in oder to know if it s possible in short futur to open real traditionnal french pastry. I m actually in bacolod.

If an expat who know well dumaguete can meet me for given me some advice about the city of dumaguete, i ll be very happyto give him my phone number .

And if you want to try something very good in philippine...go to buy some fruits in local market, cut its, and make fruits salad..you will stay in good health and natural food..thank you everybody and sorry for my bad english.

@GoDees I have a lot of time for exploring recipes on line, Speaking for my self I enjoy the time it takes to gather and prepare meals, However tastie the meal when people are stuck on rice 3X a day rarely will they try anything I prepared. I’ve learned not to sweat it. Some of the meals My wife prepares are ok especially vegetables. Mostly it’s not something I choose to get used to.

@suavedebono  I also check out recipes on line but sometimes it is hard to find the correct ingredients at a sensible price . I am in Mactan, Cebu.  Rustan's, Lander's and S&R can be very pricey.

It is hard for some as you say, stuck on 3+ meals of rice a day to try something new, plus many do not have refrigerators.

When my wife goes to visit family, they often ask "Can Tito Bruce make potato salad or creamy garlic chicken for us". My family does at least try what I cook and hence her family get to try what l make that she likes.

Best local dish I have tried, my wife's homemade lumpia tolgai.
