@Tachelle McCarthy I applied from Lagos, Nigeria Because that’s where I’m based but if you want to know more from abidjan,you should check Belgium embassy in abidjan for more info and where to submit your application

As you're currently in the visa process, yes you have to give a "dummy" ticket.

Don't pay the ticket yet!!! You just need a booking, print the pdf with expected date of departure and that's it.
