Where do you come from? You need 65,000 baht/month in pension and 19,000 euro covers that. When you apply for the 1 year extension at the local immigration office, you will need an income letter from your embassy or consulate in Thailand as proof of being retired and showing your income.

I assume you are not yet in Thailand?  If so then get a 90 day 'marriage' Visa - it is basically a Visa to visit your Thai family.  When you arrive - or if you are already in Thailand then do this:

Go with your wife to the local Immigration Office. Get her to ask them what ytou need to do to get a 12 month permission to stay (extension) based on marriage. You will need to open a bank account and place 400K Baht in that 2 months before you formally apply to get approved. Your pension is more than enough to meet the annual income requirement - get a letter/document from your Government stating exactly what payments you are receiving. Getting an income letter from Embassy in Thailand can be a problem - but the local Immigration Office may ask for it - and maybe not.  There will be lots of things you will need to get done - the Thai wife can ask and get all the details for you. The first stage of approval will be a 3 month 'provisional' approval to stay - then they will give you the full 12 month permission to stay.  Each year you will need 400K in bank 2 months before aplication to extend 12 moree months  - once fully approved you can withdraw that money - many people just leave it there - or most of it and top up when needed.

Another option is once you have the first 90 days Visa, then find a good honest local agent and pay them to do it all for you.  If the wife is up to it she might (very quietly) ask the IO if there is any one agent that he/she recommends that you can use - nudge nudge - best to use a local agent known to the IOs.

And remember - you must 'report' every 90 days - dont forget/ifnore ot your next 12 months extension will very likely be rejected.

"Getting an income letter from Embassy in Thailand can be a problem - but the local Immigration Office may ask for it - and maybe not." When using the pension income method when married to a thai, which is an average of 40k/month,and coming from countries other than the US,UK and Australia, immigration will "ALWAYS" ask for the income letter from an embassy or consulate. That's the only way you can prove your income. And those income letters are NOT a problem to obtain as long as you have the income letter from your pension provider.

@Leeds forever!   Wrong.  https://thailand.embassy.gov.au/bkok/Consular_FAQs.html  Quote:  "Is it true that the Embassy and Consulate-General will no longer witness statutory declarations stating income or bank balances?   Yes. As of 7 January 2019, we will no longer provide this service."

Many other Embassies also stopped providing this 'income letter' back in 2019.  The Thai Immigration Police requested they all do so, because they were giving them out in the past without actually verifying the income being received by the Expat.

Like I said to the OP - he should go to the local Office with his Thai wife and ask what they need to be provided in his application.
