Importing supplements into Turkey - help required with doctor's note

Hi all,
Happy 2023 to all to begnin with. I'm posting because I have a problem with getting the postal service here to release some CBD supplements I ordered online. CBD is not illegal in Turkey for personal use, but I was not aware of how strict the regulations are for importing any supplements into Turkey.

Basically, the postal/customs service have the supplements, but they will not release them to me without
A prescription from a doctor with exact name/quantities
Other documents like proof of purchase, CC statement, ID etc.

I can do all the other documents - it's the prescription that's the problem. I'm not a resident here - I'm only staying max 90 days until March. How do I get a doctor here to write a prescription for the CBD supplements so the postal service will release them? Is this even possible for a non Turkish resident just visiting here? I don't anticipate being able to just walk into a doctor's office as a non resident and get an appointment.

I'm staying in Istanbul. I have emailed the Taksim Acibadem Hospital asking for help, but no response yet. Therefore if anyone based in Istanbul can offer advice on this, such as:
Where to go to get an English speaking doctor to write a prescription for me
Any good English speaking doctors in Istanbul (Taksim/Beyoglu area preferred)
Any doctors on this forum who can help

You don't have to be a resident to get medical care in Turkey. Find a doctor outside of a hospital, and go to him, pay 400-500 TL for a prescription, and tell him you need a prescription for CBD supplements, and he may write it for you. Then take it to the post office. That is all you need to do for a prescription.

OK, thanks for the advice. But will the post office also charge to release the supplements? I've already paid $25 for the supplements, $25 for shipping, sounds like another $25 for a prescription, Getting tired of mounting costs here. If I'll also be charged some kind of duty or import tax by the post office, I may not bother.

Welcome to Turkey. Everything has taxes and costs to it.

It depends. Sometimes customs charges fees for when you import something, and they won't release it until you pay for it. I know people who sent over personal items like eye glasses, and a few other items, and they had to pay taxes on it at customs before they would release it.

Almost everything has a duty tax on it in Turkey. You will have to ask the post office though if there is any duty tax on it.
