Hi,

Once the visa d is issued, is it possible to enter belgium for a short trip before moving there?

You can enter while the visa is valid. If you want to enter, leave (schengen area) and come back, make sure your visa is multiple entry.

@pm1329 yes, I’ve done this. But once you use your Visa D for entrance you’re required to declare your arrival in the commune within 8 days - so just do this and let the commune know your plans.
