Is my wife at risk? Tier 2 Spouse Visa (PBS Dependent)

Post new topic

Hello everyone!

With the situation the world is in, I want to make sure my wife is safe.

Here is our scenario.

Husband: Tier 2 Skilled sponsored by my company. Switching to Global Talent Visa.

Wife: Tier 2 Spouse, PBS dependent.

My lawyer and company informed me that I can keep my wife's status AS IS even after my switch and she would still be eligible for ILR in a few years.

Question: If I lose my job in the coming year, I should be safe as I am on Global Talent Visa. But then, what would happen to my wife's status?

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I think that as long as you remain able to continue to meet the conditions of that visa (link) and support your wife and family without recourse to public funds, you have nothing to worry about.

My advice would be to ask your lawyer for a definitive answer.

I hope this helps.
