Is there anyway around this?

Post new topic

Hi!

, I’m hoping to move to Bahrain this summer with my husband and 3 children but I seemed to have overlooked a ‘small’ detail.. sponsorship!

We don’t have any jobs in the kingdom, my husband works for himself and is prepared to go back and forth as required while I stay in Bahrain with the kids.

Is there anyway around this? By registering the kids in school or something?!

Thank you in advance.

hello

Welcome on board !

Please note that I have created a new thread on the Bahrain forum so that you may get some advice. Do you or your husband has the Bahraini nationality/citizenship  ?

All the best

This has been covered many times on the forums - use search next time. For sponsorship, the below are the only options that you have. Otherwise you are gong to have to enter on visit visa and exit before expiry........rinse and repeat. Be aware that on a visit visa you cannot do a lot of things e.g. put kids in school, get a bank account, buy a car, get a driving license, rent a house or indeed, even get a permanent mobile number.

The four options are:

1) Get a job / work permit

2) Set up a company and have it sponsor you for investor / dependent visas

3) Buy property and get visas through that route (Self sponsorship or Golden visa)

4) Golden visa if your salary outside of Bahrain is above 4000 BD

2 & 3 are covered in the stickies on the forum.

And no, there is no way around it.

Thank you very much for your replies!

I have a British and Spanish passport my husband and children French.

So the easiest solution would be for us to buy property, I’ve read online that one has to buy property for 50,000 BD or over is that correct?

If my husband was to buy a property myself and the children would automatically be eligible for residence permits?

Once again.. thank you!

@XTang I just read your thread. Thank you very much for taking the time to write all that up! It’s the clearest info I’ve found in the past couple of weeks.

Even buying property isn’t the easy route, well not fast route anyway. It seems to take a lot of time… hmm doesn’t look like I’ll make it over for this summer 😔
