Does one have to claim 100% of all the rental income? We could make about 6.000,00 annually and will be spending 6 months there. We will only rent rooms in the basement and will live upstairs when we are there. Is it adviceable to rent rooms on the main floor?

Does anyone use smart home keyless entry locks?  Are they super secure??   Appreciate any input and advice.

Rental income in Portugal, must be declared in your income tax declaration in Portugal (declaração anual de IRS), and is taxed at a rate of 28%.

Regarding the other questions, it is similar in Portugal to what you would do in Canada.
