Municipality charges

Post new topic

Hello, i got my CPR and due to that now I’ve to pay 23 BD municipality charges every month is it possible if I change my apartment then I won’t need to pay ?

XTang

It has nothing to do with your apartment.   It has to do with your rental agreement.  Once it is registered with municipality, you will automatically have to pay 10% of monthly rent in the EWA bill.  If you change apartment then your previous landlord has to close the lease in municipality records.

Shery94

@XTang so if I update the record in ems ID and on my cpr would I’ve to pay again ? The municipality charges ?

XTang

If you update the address on the CPR (forget EMS) via a new lease agreement, then yes.

Shery94

If I don’t update it is it fine ?

XTang

Yes you can leave it if you don't need to renew the CPR.

@XTang

I have similar issues, my tenant has left and I moved in myself to the flat,  but I still pay Municipality fees. How do I close that rental agreement?

Thanks

XTang

Approach municipality to update the status of the residence.

@XTang - should Bahraini tenants needs to 10% municipality charges as per monthly rent if they rent flat or villa?

XTang

Municipality charges are based on rental, not nationality.
