How long A card valid after work contract terminated.

Post new topic

Dear all ,

I have a A type card which is valid till 01.01.2024.But meanwhile my work contract will be terminated. Is there any limit if i still keep living and job searching in the Belgium territory.

If i found a job after my work contract terminated this gap does it affect future citizenship application?

Btw im living in Belgium for 3 years and 5 months .Integration completed. Language course still continuing with 2.3 - 2.4 level.

Most appreciated for your accurate answers.

@maharaji1984 Hi, to such question they answered at the city hall that once you stop working you need to find a new work within 3 months. Otherwise, they can revoke your A card even if it's valid for a longer period because the reason of your stay in Belgium is work and this a basis of your A card. Thta's what I heard, I haven't checked if this info is accurate though.

@lady_lis thanks for accurate reply.

Do you know if there is a gap between two work permits, then this does affect citizenship or unlimited work permit application?

@maharaji1984

for citizenship it doesn’t as long as you find work while your current A card is valid.
