Registered contractors in Ponta Delgada

Post new topic

Hello. We are looking to renovate our family home in Sao Miguel. We will be flying in from Canada so I would like to get quotes right away from three top notch, honest, hard working, and must be registered, contractors in Sao Miguel.

Anyone have any great reviews of personal experiences with remodeling their bathrooms and kitchens in Sao Miguel?

Are interior designers for bathrooms and kitchens a thing in Ponta Delgada?

Where are the best places to get kitchen and bathroom cabinets and toilets and sinks?

Thoughts on when to get the Energy Certificate. Before or after the renovations? Is there another audit that we should consider?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi Paula,

Leroy Merlin usually has these materials, design suggestions and a list of contacts that do house renovation, plumbing, painting, etc.

Ask at the Ponta Delgada shop. You have to pay 25 eur for the quote when the builder comes to your house. This is deducted from the price of the work if you agree to it.

The energy certificate is mandatory when there is a transaction, for example, you buy the house, and it is your seller's obligation to ask for it. Or you sell the house, and it is you who asks for it. In the case of house renovation, there is no need for you to ask for a certificate. Unless you are trying to optimize the heating loss as much as possible, or other improvements in your house. But that's just your own choice.
