Transferring car ownership

Post new topic

Sam&Bob

OK, so we've now (finally!) found our property in Cyprus and had our offer accepted.  The owner (who we actually know) has also said we can have their car as they are moving back to the UK and we are going to purchase this as a separate transaction.  It's likely we will be able to move into the property prior to the completion of the sale (vacant possession once the deposit payment is done) so where does this leave us regarding sorting out the registration/transfer of ownership as we won't as yet have our pink slip application fully underway as we'll be awaiting the completion 30 days after deposit is paid .  Are we still best to sort out a hire car for a few weeks until we can register the car?  And can we insure it before we can register/transfer ownership?

You may still be able effect purchase transfer registration and insurance as long as you can prove your residency application and provide passport plus insurance.... You can do the transfer at the Citizen Service Centre and it may serve you well.to go there first
