Carrying jewelry in carry on bag do I have to declare at customs

shaddaione

I've been living in Dominican Republic For about 15 months but I've been traveling here for a couple of years and customs has always told me that as long as it's Under $10,000 you don't have to declare it.

Thanks appericate it going to DR May 24th

The $10k limit is on currency. If your jewelry is your personal jewelry and not for resell, you do not need to declare it.

Yup , I was told no more than $ 9,999 in cash and you don’t have to declare it and if your jewelry is not for resale , there’s no limit , I think I would remove most of the sales tags though
