Formalities to bring your pet in Singapore

Post new topic

Julien

Hi all,

What are the formalities and paperwork required to bring your pet in Singapore?

How long do formalities & paperwork usually take in Singapore?

What are the relevant authorities to contact?

Which vaccines are compulsory? Do your pets have to go in quarantine at their arrival in Singapore?

Which advice would you give to the ones who would like to move with a dog, a cat or any other pet?

Thanks in advance for participating :)

Please check out www.ava.gov.sg for all animals and pets related issue. They are also the government board to issue license to own a pet.

Alternatively, I will recommend you to participate in a few other pets forum, such as petschannel.sg, doggiesite.com, dogsforum.sg to check with owners which airline or service provider they use for transportation.

Do note that all animals will be under quarantine upon arrival, you can also find out more details in AVA website.

For housing and licensing, do note that only 1 small breed dog is allow for HDB (a government housing), and up to 3 dogs for private housing (condo and landed property). Some condo managment (despite being private housing) might not allow pets, though this is very rare case, but better to confirm.

For dogs under Category A (refer to AVA website), there are more stringent ruling, such as muzzling... etc. You can also refer to the website you see your dog is categorise under which size.

Don't be surprise if you find that many breeds that are consider medium size in the US standard, are actually consider a big breed here.
